Here are some cool stories to check out while I work on mine! · 9:32pm Mar 1st, 2022

Well, I've gone two months into 2022 without posting anything here. Let's change that!

…So, yeah. January was a surprisingly busy month for me IRL, so I wasn't all that productive on the writing side of things. I was planning to get something done during the month's tail end, but the one-two punch of Seattle's Angels and the Royal Canterlot Library closing their doors knocked that wind right back out of my sails. It's been billowing on and off ever since, I'm afraid.

On the bright side, I've been very productive on other fronts! I contributed to a bonus chapter for TheMajorTechie's collaborative "500,000th story on FiMFiction" spectacular, and I did proofreading/editing work for other very well-written stories too. I'll certainly have to sing their praises in further detail at a later date, but for the time being, you can read them all yourself using the embeds below!

TElectro Swing
When blame is cast on Vinyl Scratch for ruining an elite winter party, Fancy Pants intercedes on her behalf. However, even the Kingmaker of Canterlot may lack the power to stop the record from spinning out of control.
Rego · 423k words  ·  198  7 · 2.5k views
TLove After Life
Gallus and Sandbar both die saving the world and enter Heaven. As they discover more about the place, they learn about new feelings about themselves and each other.
CrackedInkWell · 101k words  ·  75  14 · 2k views
EOnly in My Memories
Princess Luna fails to recall the names of several ponies during her first Hearth's Warming since her return, so she decides to test the limits of her memory with the help of her night sky.
Rego · 6.5k words  ·  59  0 · 941 views
EAchievement Unlocked: Alicorn Princess
A new alicorn princess appears in Ponyville, causing such an uproar that the royal sisters are called to help Twilight and Starlight investigate.
Rego · 6.2k words  ·  248  6 · 3k views

(I'm also helping Rego with another story that ought to come out within the next two days, so keep an eye out for that too!)

EAdjacent Adventure
Zipp has found discrepancies in Equestrian Lore, and has become determined to find the truth.
Merallakos · 10k words · 249 views

(And seriously, please give Merrallakos some love. They deserve so much more attention than what they've been getting.)

In other news, I've been thinking about other ways I could possibly contribute to this site. A lot of users have blog series where they offer story reviews/recommendations, and I've been increasingly interested in writing something similar. I'm not sure if it would be all that insightful, though; knowing me, there's a 50/50 shot I'd just sound like Lenny Pepperbottom describing an aspen.

"Woah, this is a cool story, and it's cool because it's cool!" –hypothetical me, 2022

Either way, I think I'll have fun giving it a try. I'd like to focus mostly on "underrated" or otherwise obscure fanfics; stuff that relies on interesting storytelling gimmicks, atypical headcanons… things like that, y'know what I mean? I already have a few stories in mind, so I'll be sure to let you know if the idea goes anywhere.

In the meantime, I'm going to see if I can finally get another one of my works-in-progress into the New column. I've been stuck in this vicious cycle where every time it feels like I'm about to make a final push towards finishing something, my brain starts loop-de-looping in place until I give up and try something else. I'm definitely going to break away from that loop by the end of the month, but even I know that doesn't really narrow the timeframe down.

Well, whenever it happens, whatever it winds up being, and whoever it's even by, I hope I'll have something new to share with you all sometime soon.

Until then, take care!

Thanks for the plug and for making my writing far more bearable on the eyes. Thank you for always sacrificing your sanity on the pillar of multiple drafts.

Losing those groups was pretty hard, but it's to be expected as G4 fades into the annuls of television history. Still, if you have a story to tell that is executed well, I'm sure the one's left will appreciate the effort. That's my opinion of it anyway. Lemme know the next time I can return the favor on your writings by offering some editing.
