Cheesey B-Movie Goodness · 7:09am Feb 27th, 2022

So the Foo Fighters made a Horror/Comedy movie...
AND IT WAS AWESOME!

This movie has got to be one of the most crazy movies I've seen recently, It's insane. For starters, the kills in this movie were over the top. Real Gorey shit, so gorey in fact that you end up laughing at how absurd and funny they are. They were really well done too, practical effects were top notch.

The story follows the Foo Fighters stuck in a creative block as they try to come up with something ground breaking for their 10th studio album. They move into this haunted mansion in California hoping that would help as well as getting that "sound" they're going for. Instead though Dave Grohl ends up finding this cursed demo album in a satanic basement. Which leads to him getting possessed and killing his entire band.

The jokes in the movie stuck too, they got a laugh out of me as well as the theater I was in. Though I gotta say the movie starts off pretty slow. You really get into the good stuff once Dave Grohl gets possessed. Then again I went into this movie expecting a cheesey, funny horror movie with great kills and that's exactly what I got. Don't go expecting this movie to change your life or win an Oscar.

As far as acting goes I think Dave, Pat, Taylor, Nate, Chris, and Rami were kinda bad. I feel though that they do it on purpose and in all honesty it just adds to the hilarity. You can tell they had a blast with filming it. I also love the guest appearances in this movie. For instance you got horror legend John Carpenter, not only was he there for a cameo but he also composed some songs for the movie. There's also metal legend Kerry King from Slayer, that one really surprised me.

The music in this movie is kickass as well! The Foo Fighters came up with this Thrash/Death Metal vibe for the soundtrack. Speaking of which that's something I'm heavily excited for, to coincide with the movie the Foo Fighters are gonna be releasing a Thrash/Death metal album under the name Dream Widow, the band that appears in the movie. So expect a review of that when it drops.

Needless to say this was a fun movie that didn't take itself seriously and I had a great time with it. I would only recommend this movie to Foo Fighters fans though, as many jokes and such are more directed towards the fans. Though I've heard from some people who aren't fans of the band that they had a good time regardless. As they were fans of the comedy and horror of the movie. So take that as you will.
