Yeah it's bad · 4:31am Feb 20th, 2022

Yeah unfortunately this movie turned out to be a real mess like the recent past sequels have been. Good thing I was going in with low expectations. Is it too much to ask that they at least make a competent sequel?

For starters the characters sucked ass. There's literally no development for them, nothing of interest either. The main character has this sort of PTSD from a school shooting she survived but that doesn't do anything for the story, it's just there for the sake of making her character tragic and relatable.

Her friends and family are very boring too, they're just there to get killed really. I could only remember the name of 3 characters from this movie. You feel NOTHING when a character dies in this movie, only exception being one of the first deaths in the movie cause it's actually quite sad. Other than that one death, this movie had me cheering for Leatherface, he's the real protagonist of this movie. I'd also like to add that these characters make the stupidest decisions I've ever seen in a movie PERIOD.

Then they had the nerve to bring back Sally Hardesty from the first movie, only to give her the most pointless role in this entire movie.
Spoilers: She had the easiest chance to kill Leatherface. He literally just stood there as she pointed a shotgun at him for 5 mins and he didn't bother killing her he just let her GO! Like what the actual fuck!? She doesn't pull the trigger!

One thing I've had a gripe about with the recent movies is they try to make Leatherface this big bad, bad guy. When in actuality the movie was always about the family, Leatherface was just a unique, stand out character. He was never really evil either, he just killed people whenever he felt threatened. On the inside he really is just a scared child in a man's body. His family though was always the highlight of the past movies, each member had their own thing going on, something unique about them that made them cool.

I will say however that this movie is actually entertaining. The cinematography is pretty awesome too, there were some nice shots of the little town and the Texan landscape that were really pretty. The kills are also awesome in this movie, really gory and creative. There's some kills however like people getting sawed in half that looked bad. The practical effects are really top notch in this movie, one of the best I'd say. That's about all the positives that you'll get out of this movie. It fails miserably as a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie but it is entertaining nonetheless.

Oof. Kinda sucks how this movie turned out. I remember seeing the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 remake I think in 2020. I did not like that movie one bit. I loved the gore and everything and how Leatherface was, but what really bugged me a lot is the drooling the characters would have, running noses, ugh! It was just disgusting to me.

The story kinda sucked too. The characters asked for help, but I guess the law enforcement didn’t believe them, and he threatened to either kill or arrest the “trespassers”. Idk. Been a while since I’ve seen that one. Was so disappointed.

Did you at least have a good time seeing it? Can't forget that famous line "Try anything and you're cancelled bro". Lol

I actually like the remake, it was like a remake/reboot. I mainly liked it because it went for that gritty vibe like the original did. Also unlike recent films, that one had the family aspect I loved about the first 3 films. My favorite family member being Sheriff Hoyt (played by R. Lee Ermey) that guy CARRIED that movie. He was sadistic and a piece of shit but man I can't help but love that character.

The story wasn't very good in that movie as well but it wasn't horrible either. Though I will admit the characters in the remake weren't anything special, if you narrow it down Sheriff Hoyt was the only character who had anything going for him. The characters are bland but they aren't horrible like other movies.

Leatherface in that movie was also a good attempt. He doesn't go out of his way to kill the characters, he only does so when they invade his home, like he should. I also like how his family bosses him around, like a little kid.

I also forgot that the pothead Sheriff Hoyt was smacking around started drooling and stuff lmao :rainbowlaugh:
yeah that's nasty, nobody wants to see that.

The prequel to that movie however sucks ass, Sheriff Hoyt at least makes it tolerable.
