    Cape Town Vacation

Hey guys, so I just want to address that my family and I will be riding out tonight to Cape Town for a two-week vacation. I’m just going to put this out that I have never been to Cape Town before so I don’t know what to expect apart from the sea and the sandy beaches and the weather. Hopefully this will be a great vacation because I am both excited and nervous.

My rant against the #Voidlap58 trend on Twitter · 2:07pm Feb 19th, 2022

Before anyone decides to call me out, note this is just me giving my opinion without siding with Lewis Hamilton or Max Vertstappen fans. Neither am I a Lewis Hamilton fan or Max Verstappen fan.

One: I’ve recently started seeing a trend on twitter where Lewis Hamilton fans are protesting that the FIA completely annul the results from the final lap from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last year and strip Max’s title and give it to Lewis Hamilton. Now here’s the problem with this: stripping Max’s title and awarding it to Lewis Hamilton is not going to fix anything!! In fact it would only smear the credibility of the sport even more and even lead to a war between the fans. Stripping Verstappen of his title is not like trying to strip a barcode off from a newly bought T-shirt, there are numerous procedures that have to be made to something like this.

Two: Lewis Hamilton wouldn’t want a stripped title handed to him on a silver platter! He would be ashamed if he was awarded a title that was handed down due to a controversial fuelled finale, and he has a deep respect for Max and vice versa, and obviously thinks both of them deserved the championship title. But these ‘Hamilton Stans’ are trying to ruin Max’s image by painting him as the bad guy and even going so far to say he is an illegitimate champion for being handed the title on the actions of Michael Masi’s decision. Max doesn’t deserve any of this!! He didn’t know what was happening behind the scenes when Masi was negotiating with the Red Bull and Mercedes teams!

Three: The FIA aren’t perfect! You can’t expect them to fix everything and make the sport much clearer, the people working there are human beings as well! They are always under immense pressure to deliver hardcore racing, but ‘Hamilton Stans’ think otherwise by accusing the FIA of manipulation, constantly bashing them for their jobs and ridiculing the race director for his mismanagement during the entire season, all the while worshiping and praising on their Lewis Hamilton altars for him for being a perfect driver. Haven’t these idiots not seen what Lewis Hamilton did in his younger days in McLaren?!?! He practically tried sabotaging Alonso during the entire 2007 season so he could win his first title, and let’s not forget when he deliberately lied to the stewards about Timo Glock passing the safety car! Lewis Hamilton isn’t perfect, but he wouldn’t want the FIA to hand him a stripped title.

That is my entire rant on this #Voidlap58 trend. Saying negative comments about Verstappen and him being stripped of his title and giving it to Hamilton is not going to fix the entire integrity of the sport, it would only make things worse! I don’t care how many dislikes I will get for saying what is important to the value of having a race under good sportsmanship. We watch F1 for the hard fought races between our favourite drivers, not for the arguments and toxicity of who should get the championship.
