Chapter 8 is up, and this is where things get dark, also a bit more on the NCR lore ideas I have.

So before we get into the topic of the NCR, a bit about chapter 8, a it's the first to have a "Content Warning" attached to it. If you have been following "A Wastelander Tale" you then have noticed that this story is more sexualy graphic then my other story's. (the ones that are not clop) yes there is sex in those stories, but mainly a faid to black kind of thing. but here it is both mentioned off to the side, and is actually seen in the story. Partly the resone for this is to not sugar coat things about the wasteland, and to explain why there are so many foals everywhere, even if you don't see them. As Tripwire expained, the wasteland has very little forms of entertainment, so ponies tend to have sex a lot. For Lottery, she was quite sheltered and was basically blindsided by this, though not all that bothered. It simply is how things are, and she herself is a young mare looking for romance.

this would also explain Star Charter getting pregnant at 16 years old, and Rook from one of my oneshot's having had 6 kids despite not being that old. (BTW, Rook is the mother of Keep, the traveling Merchants wife and Wight Scorpion Mercenary)

All tat said, there is a very clear dark side to this, that being rape, and that it is unfortunately common in the wasteland. From some pony being taken advantage of, to the absolute nightmare that is raiders, it is unfortunately part of the wasteland most have to just live with. Littlepip herself came close to that reality a few times, and if I remember correctly, two characters in the story had been victims of it. The filly Derby saves had been raped by raiders, and Xenith had been raped by the slavers. But for the original story, it makes sense that such things were kept as background stories lightly toched on, as there was so much alredy going on as it was, it would have just dragged things down to add any more.

I still don't know if I'm doing this right, or how some characters respond to it are responding to it in a way that makes sence. so let me know if things are a bit too off about it.

Now that aside, a bit on this NCR image. and I'll keep it short.

The overall idea here is that Calamity as President, would form the Heavy Troopers as a response to the ever creeping threats of rival civilizations. meant to be purely defensive, they would become among the most feared troops the NCR have, even more then the NCR Rangers. This would be the no nonsense nature of the Heavy Troopers, where the Rangers are more like independent hero's, the Heavy Troopers are strait soldiers with a clear mission and all the best gear. They don't negotiate, they don't stick to the shadows, they charge in and destroy everything in their way. This being something that the Steal Rangers would come to regret as the heavy flamers the troopers have, use the bypass talisman Redeye developed, effectively making the power armor useless as the Heavy Troopers would charge them.
