Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for tonight! This evening, I will be reviewing an animated Justice League movie for the second time which is something I’ve honestly looked forward to for quite a while now. As someone who is a huge fan of the DC universe—mostly a Batman fan—reviewing DC movies always puts a smile on my face...mostly whenever I write a review for a film I genuinely enjoyed. This is definitely the case as I review 2010’s Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. This movie was such a wonderful treat for me because it involves various characters from two different universes coming face-to-face. Crossovers are always an instant win for me!

The heroic version of Lex Luther from another dimension arrives to Earth where he calls for the Justice League for help against the evil version of the JL called the Crime Syndicate led by Ultraman, Superwoman, and Owlman. Lex, Superman, Batman, and the others must work together to save both worlds from the Crime Syndicate’s schemes.

This movie did an excellent job in giving some of the Justice League members character development and character chemistry. One of my favorite moments would be the romantic scene between Rose Wilson (daughter of Deathstroke aka Slade) and Martian Manhunter. The way the latter showed Rose the method through which two people could know each other was quite profound and intriguingly deep. I just wish it was developed more.

The animation was quite impressive-looking and had decent character designs for most of the characters. My favorite character designs are those belonging to Superwoman, Owlman, and even Jester. Speaking of whom, I really wish The Jester was given a major role in the movie since he’s basically the hero version of The Joker. Nevertheless, his off-screen sacrifice for Lex at the beginning was well-done. It just makes me wonder how the interaction between Joker and Jester would be if they would ever meet. The same can be said for the monkey Harley and human Harley.

Owlman and Superwoman are my favorite characters in the entire movie for me, not just because of their voice actors but also because of their dynamic personalities and designs. Everything about them was perfect! James Woods was the perfect guy to voice Owlman and likewise for Gina Torres in voicing Superwoman. What I love about Gina Torres is her ability to give a seductive yet intimidating voice for a villainess that would capture a person’s attention and be pulled by her enticing tone. Gosh, she was amazing in the role.

Owlman was quite an antagonist for the movie too. He is a nihilist who views reality and the ways of the world as some things that do not matter whatsoever no matter what choices we make in life, especially in the grand scheme of things. His no-nonsense attitude and nonchalant personality combined with his genius-level intellect were an instant win for me. We need more James Woods in more animated projects, I tell ya. Just like with Hades and Lex Luther, he did great with Owlman.

The entire movie had well-executed action scenes too. The soundtrack was decent, and the other voice actors were pretty good too. Although I’m not particularly fond of this version of Batman, William Baldwin still did a decent vocal performance as him. Same can be said for Mark Harmon as Superman, Nolan North as Green Lantern, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, and Chris Noth as Lex Luther.

Overall, this was both a fun, wonderful, and epic run with my favorite heroes on screen. As I said, it has solid character developing moments, awesome action scenes, great dialogue, and good animation. I give this a 9/10!

Peace!

This is easily one of my favorite DC films of all time.

James Woods did a fantastic job as the voice of Owlman and the character itself is one of my all-time favorite animated movie villains.
