Happy Christmas, Everybody · 2:03am Dec 25th, 2021
Just wanted to say that, and let some of my watchers know that I'm still alive.
This has been a busy month for me, but I must admit, it's nice to know that the 25th is almost here.
And as a little mark of celebrating, here - have one of the Christmas specials I used to watch as a kid.
"A Garfield Christmas" was on a VHS tape my parents recorded off of a Christmas marathon on CBS when my sister and I were kids. On that old tape were also airings of Frosty the Snowman, and the iconic Chuck Jones version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" The Garfield special was the last one on the recording, but it always made for a nice finish in my opinion. For a character who's so known for his laziness and cynicism, the fat orange cat honestly has a very nice display of heart in this particular holiday special. At least in my opinion anyway
Enjoy the cartoon, anybody who chooses to watch it. And Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, to everyone, alright?
Eeee. Merry Christmas, silly!
That one is a favorite of mine as well, along with "A Muppet Family Christmas". Both, thankfully, are online if you know where to look.
Now if only I could track down that old VHS copy I have of "The Muppets' Christmas Carol"...

Merry Christmas, Four.

Nice.
Yeah, I hear that. We had to get rid of our VHS tapes a while back, and there are definitely quite a few that I really miss. I managed to luck out back in 2019 and find Muppet Christmas Carol on DVD (and a version that had "The Love We Found" as well!) but all the same, there's still something kinda special about those old tapes.

You lucky soul! I can only hope that the song is on the version available on Disney+ as assorted websites claim, the movie is so much better with it.

Tell me about it. I was stunned at the time.
And I can only hope so as well. Really, I don't get what some people had against the song in the first place. Proof, I suppose, that taste is well and truly subjective.

From what I understand, the executives wanted it cut from the theatrical version because they felt the little kiddies would be bored.

Sounds like an executive decision, all right.
Merry Christmas, my guy.

Thanks, Shadow. You as well, yeah?
