Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with another movie review for tonight! For our Disney Friday, I will now be reviewing Disney’s Zootopia from 2016. This is yet another one of Disney’s brilliantly-made movies that contains character chemistry, development, a well-written storyline, and interesting characters. I remember watching this film back around last year or so and saw how intriguing this movie was and what it was all about. In my opinion, it’s a pretty great film.

This is about anthropomorphic animals—big and small—who live with each other in Zootopia. They even consist of predators and prey who co-exist together although there were certainly some prejudice shown here and there. A bunny rabbit named Judy Hopps wants to be a police officer and trains to be one; she eventually meets a con fox named Nick Wilde who soon helps her solve a mysterious problem that threatens the peace of Zootopia.

I thought it was a very well done plot as it shows us the damage prejudice and hatred can inflict on innocent lives and how racism (or specism in their case) should be addressed.

Judy Hopps was an adorable yet relatable character, and Nick Wilde was a pretty hilarious character to watch. I just love the dynamic they had with each other, and how sassy and sarcastic they were.

The animation looks pretty good, the voice acting was great, the intense action scenes were solid, and the character development was amazing. Props to the voice actors: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, J. K. Simmons, and Idris Elba for their spectacular voice performances as they stood out to me the most.

If I had one complaint for this movie, it would be the twist villain. Bellwether wasn’t that interesting to begin with, so having her be revealed as the mastermind behind the setups with the predators was just lame in my opinion. There wasn’t enough hints that led to the reveal either. I dunno, I just felt so underwhelmed by her performance in the movie.

Other than that, this was a pretty solid movie with a great moral! I especially enjoyed the humor in this as well. There were some scenes here and there that made me laugh such as the scenes with the sloth. That was pretty funny. So yeah, Zootopia is pretty great! 9/10!

Peace!

I love this movie and back in the day when I was in school. My teacher and friends always talk about this movie

I love this movie! The characters and the story are great. I think it explains racism very well. And I also like how it portrays bullying, very painful scenes. But I´m glad that Gideon Gray is nice to Judy and recognizes his mistakes when he´s older. He shows that some people can change. Nick´s bullies, on the other hand were very brutal, and I´m pretty sure they didn´t change.

I agree that Bellwether wasn’t exactly one of the most compelling antagonists in Disney’s filmography. At the same time, though, I think she and Lionheart are also a great representation of the corrupt politicians in America’s political section, particularly the Democrat and Liberal parties.

As a matter of fact, Lionheart used to remind me a lot of Barack Obama, and Bellwether reminded me the most of Hillary Clinton. Nowadays, Lionheart reminds me of Joe Biden, and Bellwether reminds me the most of Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris.
