Story review #10: No Two Sunsets Are Alike —by ReedHoarse

Character’s:

Sunset Shimmer (Pony): Loved the way she thinks her human counterpoint is hotter and grapples with the idea that she’s attracted to herself. And wonders why her friends think she would be attracted to herself.
But most of all she is pretty close to her canon self and because of that she is my favorite character in the story.

Sunset Shimmer (Human): Exactly how I imagined human Sunset. Sassy with just enough Narcissistic hot lesbian energy and close to try he real Sunset just without the whole redeemed villain backstory. Very much enjoyed her and the her small role in the story.

Sunset’s friends: they’re fine and in character but since they are mostly a plot device/running gag I feel they are underutilized despite the fact they are mostly they’re canon selves.

Premise: Cute, short, and a really good comedy.
It is a well executed Suncest story and the idea that Sunset’s so confused by this strange attraction makes it even better.

Grammar and Punctuation: Well written I didn’t notice any mistakes and I commend ReedHoarse for that.

Dialogue: The dialogue is quick and witty and mostly well done but that also does limit the story and make the non comedy parts of it kind of fade into the background of the story all together.

Flaws: I felt that the meeting between the 2 Sunset’s was a bit rushed and shoehorned into the story change the slow self aware story into a fast paced final conversation. Which did detract from the story but doesn’t make me too upset.

Strengths: Chemistry between all the characters and the chemistry in the conversations is top tier and makes me feel very involved in the story. Also the self awareness and the jokes are very entertaining.

This story definitely deserved the 3rd place spot it got and was a very entertaining story. But as always those are just my 2 cents and I recommend you check out the story yourself and form you’re own opinion.
