    At the climax of Crystal Empire Pt 2 (when everyone gets new hairdos) Canterlot appeared with the stars out and apparently late at night. With Sombra and the protective dome messing with things, it's hard to tell the time of day in the Empire, but it seems to be daytime or at least dusk at the same moment. Which implies timezones. With Sombra and the protective dome messing with things, it's hard to tell the time of day in the Empire, but it seems to be daytime or at least dusk at the same moment. Which implies timezones. Which implies "raising" the heavenly bodies is a constant process or a PR masterstroke.

The latter implies that the RPS are basically The Tallest from Invader Zim.

Which I am pretty okay with.

Lol, that works. I assumed Time Zones and constant movement anyway; it's probably powerful-yet-subtle enough that the glow of the horn isn't really evident. The 'raise the sun' thing is probably a figure of speech more than anything. :twilightsmile:

Tallest from Invader Zim? What are those and what is that?

Invader Zim? Invader Zim was a very odd Nickelodeon cartoon from 2001 in which incompetent and probably insane alien attempts to infiltrate and take over Earth for his imperial overlords, The Almighty Tallest, and is defeated by his own mistakes, assumptions, or the paranoid conspiracy buff who he shares a classroom with.

The Tallest are literally that, the tallest Irkans, and consequently they are in charge. They seem extremely arbitrary and goofy, having sent Zim to invade Earth (which they do not care about and can barely locate) to get him out of the way and prevent him from invading their own homeworld and derailing their plans. Plus, they like screwing with him. Not really model leaders.

It was created by Jhonen Vasquez, who had previously created scratchy, violent "goth" comics with names like "Johnny the Homcidal Manic" and "I feel sick" - I loved those comics, but had no idea why anyone would ask him to make a children's show. Unsurprisingly it turned out dark, subversive and was cancelled after a season and a bit. It stuck with me and many others.for its sheer zaniness, satire, and stark design.

Here's the first episode in shockingly low rez.

584150 Oddly, the head-cannon of Celestial either taking credit for existing orbital mechanics or actually running the show and making a comforting ritual of "manually" raising the sun each morning both fit in my brain at the same time.

Either could be for the benign reason of keeping the panicky Pony population placated by providing positive proof of proper planetary positions *tzcccck*

RPS = royal pony sisters?

1656088 You picked it.

Apparently I need to be more pointlessly obscure.
