What’s Going On With ‘Guardians of Harmony?’

Hello, everypony. Just a little update here because I’m sure you’re all wondering why my first story ‘Guardians of Harmony: A “Friendship is Magic” Retelling’ is marked as ‘On Hiatus’ and why I haven’t been updating it since I think early September or something. Well, there’s several reasons why, and I think it all comes down to the fact that I’ve encountered writer’s block and the fact that I’m working on another story now.

Yeah, the GoH story is supposed to be the pilot of G4 retold in an expanded and darker way, with the tone and aesthetic of a Zack Snyder DCEU film mixed in there. Snyder is a huge inspiration for me. Just the epic scope of his stories and how he expertly crafts character arcs and action is downright awesome and it’s something new, something different than the usual campy, flat superhero tone we usually get. I have an entire “cinematic” universe planned with my stories, but the problem right now is starting out the Mane Six character arcs that they will undergo, specifically Applejack, who is the heart and soul of the story, similar to how Cyborg was that for the Snyder Cut. I think it was that I had no idea how to write Applejack’s arc that my writer’s muse went up in smoke.

The story isn’t dead. Far from it. When I get my motivation heck, I’ll definitely return to it (I have to because I have an infinite amount of sequels planned). But for right now, it’s on an extended hiatus. I don’t know when I’ll return, but I will. Simply put, I need to think over how Snyder would write this stuff. But in the meantime, you can catch my relatively new story: Star Wars: The Trials of the Force. Not only do I have more freedom with this story, but it also allows me to return to my roots as a Star Wars fan. I’ve left the fandom due to its inherent toxicity and lack of respect for those who disagree with them regarding the sequel trilogy, but I now want to return to it with a new mindset that’s more favorable to the rigid status quo.

Returning to the fandom with this story is going to be a massive feat and I hope you all enjoy it. This is my first attempt at an epic AND it retcons the sequels for all you hardcore sequel haters out there. But at its core, it’s still a MLP story, and not just because Silverstream is there. Again, the Young Six are my favorite characters of the G4 MLP and they just don’t get enough love, especially Silverstream and Ocellus. The others are really great too though. The reason why I love RadBunny’s Gallustream stories so much (especially Prison of Ice With Silver Keys) is because they made me really like Gallus, whereas I previously thought he was just passable in the show on his own. Not to mention, he actually goes on an epic journey to protect Silverstream, which gave him some serious points in my book, so serious shoutout to RadBunny.

My stories put the Young Six in the spotlight, where they were always meant to be. Stay tuned for more of Silverstream’s journey across the galaxy because trust me, you won’t regret it. I’ll be posting another update for when my motivation for Guardians of Harmony comes back. Don’t worry. I’m sure it will.
