Oh yeah, this exists. Excellent. · 9:21am Sep 7th, 2021
Hey there to the like 2 people who still remember this account exists. It's 2021, I haven't looked here since 2017, so a lot has changed. I think its safe to say that I won't be continuing Long Far Gone, nor do I plan to write anything horse related for the foreseeable future. While I still genuinely want to see what I thought was a pretty good deepest lore come to it's deserved conclusion, I don't know where I'd even begin to untangle it.
Destiny, as well as my knowledge of Destiny, has advanced a lot since I originally created Long Far Gone, so much so that most of the details I wrote into the story now have absolutely no basis within Destiny's universe beyond name. Knowing what I know now, I can't in good faith continue to weave a narrative that I know is completely wrong. Ironically Halo and My Little Pony have changed very little since my first post in 2016, however my involvement in the latter now consists soley of speaking with a few old fandom friends and occasionally reading some nostalgic fiction. Looking at you Exchange. I doubt there's even anyone left to read this, I wouldn't expect there to be, I took the story down a long time ago, but in the event that there is, I figure you at least deserve to know why.
I was an idiot. I was very confident in my work, and excited to show people what I had created. Turns out pony related stigma in the school environment is very real. I can see that now, my 15 year old self could not. I eagerly informed everyone of its existence, and by the time I realised what I'd done people were already using it as leverage against me. So I took it down out of embarrasement, but really that didn't do much to solve how I felt.
I'm in college now, I'm older, and I like to think maybe a little wiser. School is over, and the only people who seem to remember this whole thing happened are more curious of the subject than anything. So I've decided to put the story back up, there's no point in sweeping it under the rug, and maybe someone out there will find it inspiring in some way. If I can use my failed crossover project to encourage a story of higher quality then all the better for it eh? To that end, I'll be making an effort to clean this story up a bit. My grammar was awful back then, it still is, but grammarly has been invented so I don't need to worry about that now.
Kind regards,
~ APA
it's nice to see you still alive... it's a shame, however, we can't say the same for Cayde anymore
