Kindness and Shadow Series Finale · 2:01am Sep 3rd, 2021
I hate leaving things unfinished. The final installment of the Kindness and Shadow trilogy isn't completely written, but I have quite a bit done, and I'm tired of sitting on it. Hopefully starting to publish will get me the momentum I need to finish the last few chapters. I'd like to apologize in advance for the fact that I've no idea how to write children. Constructive criticism on that front is more than welcome.
Another thing: One of the reasons I've been dragging my feet on writing this one is that it involves some rather intense lore-building. I tried to foreshadow a whole bunch in Kindness and the Seed, but in the end, even I think it's a little out there (hard not to be when one's dealing with Discord...). It also involves the introduction of soulmate magic (safe to reveal the spoiler after chapter 4). I typically don't care much for that element myself, but this whole story-world came into being partly as my way to experiment with the trope, so I could hardly bring myself to leave it out.
I mean, I'm writing this tale mostly for my own satisfaction anyway. Anyone else who enjoys it is just a great bonus!
Its an like they say: write the story you want to read.
