Finally coming to their senses · 3:56am Aug 20th, 2021
We've been waiting for so goddamn long and it's about fucking time that the "animation is for kids" ideology is no longer ingrained in the minds of higher-ups. HBO Max has updated their Adult Animation playlist and it includes clips of, you guessed it, Adventure Time and Infinity Train. Those shows are definitely geared towards young adults, proving time and time again that animation is an art medium, not a genre.
This is a good step forward to recognize that adult animation doesn't have to rely on overused themes like sex, drugs, and violence for it to cater towards adults. Having said that, I wholeheartedly hope that HBO Max considers putting Infinity Train back into the streaming platform and premiere the remaining Books 5 to 8. The fandom deserves to see a proper ending of this awesome show.
Excellent news, I hope animation for mature audiences continues to take off.
