I need your guys help on something... · 10:07pm Aug 19th, 2021
I'm currently planning my book out now and I have reached the point where the Brothers (What I call the group of Protagonists) meet Ryker. The same Ryker that was from the Displaced Tournament, since Iroh gave me permission to use him. So Ryker in the Displaced Tournament was first seen as respective before chaos took control of him. But this time he's just a guy that's just bored.
I'm honestly stumped on what to do here. Ryker is one of my favorite characters to interact with and write, he's kind of the best of the best in terms of character. What should be Ryker's reasoning for taking the Brothers from their home and placing them in a fantasy world to defeat an Evil Overlord?
Should it be to test the Brothers' bonds? If we go with this route it would explore more with their history with each other. I would have them go against more trials to test their faith with one another and go through trial and error to go home.
However we have more options, should it be to save that world? Ryker is an all-powerful being so I would have to make up an excuse for him being unable to go in said universe. Because the villain put up a barrier between the universes to stop Ryker from coming in? If we go with this option the Brothers would be the stereotypical legendary heroes that save the world from evil.
I might ask you another question about the Generals of the Overlord, the Heroine aka the love interest of the runt of the group. Since JNKing asks you guys for help, I thought why couldn't I? So that's why I'm asking this question. But uh, for now, I'll take my leave. Bye!
