I don't really read dark/horror stuff that much, but Jaded Hearts has provided a great foray into it.
I've first met Jaded Hearts outside of Fimfiction, as members of the r/mylittlepony community first. There were regular threads discussing fan fiction stuff, and we interacted occasionally. (As far as I can tell, Jaded Hearts also has a few snippets in the vein of Casketbase77's Snippet Series.)
So reading this almost two years after its publication... well, it's way overdue for me. Especially since I read its prequel Available at the Library not too long after it released. With a riveting sense of barely knowing what's going on and therefore carrying mystique and the fear/dread of the unknown, Under the Influence is my first favorite'd fic in a long time. If you read it (assuming that cosmic horror, self-harm, and alcohol aren't too much for your tastes), then I gurantee that it'll be a good one!
Also, I should be getting around to that July 2021 (and first-half-of-August 2021) update soon!
