this will definitely be my next fic. how do i know? because the first draft is almost done and it will top out at, like, 2-2.5kw max! so it will be out relatively soon. though it's very possible (and i do hope) that i come up with a better title and description by then. anyway, enjoy this fun excerpt. well, i thought it was fun.

Wallflower frowned in trepidation, looking down uneasily at the intricate web of markings that now covered the storage room floor.
“Are you sure?”
“Yep! You can just step on it. Your hooves won’t be able to mess up the lines or anything.“ Sunset then looked up at Wallflower, who was still standing at the edge of the diagram with a worried look on her face. “Oh, don’t worry! It’s not going to do anything weird. The magic is actually going to come from me, and the diagram is just going to direct it. You might feel a slight buzz, but it’s not going to— Here, let me just show you.”
Wallflower then felt a warm tingle on her cheek, as her vision was suddenly tinged with an opal glow. She couldn’t help but stare at the identical glow surrounding Sunset’s horn, and think—
“See? Not so bad, right?”
Wallflower said nothing, as Sunset’s smile turned into a concerned frown.
“Are you okay?”
“Buh,” she replied, her cheeks flushed and eyes wide.
“Oh!” Sunset laughed. “You’ve probably never felt a unicorn aura on you before, so it must be really weird! Here, I could try to sweep it over your body so you know what it feels like—”
“No, it’s okay!” Wallflower blurted out, unable to make eye contact. “I’ll, uh, stand where you need me to.”
