Summer Sin Celebration thoughts. [edited]

"Peg-a-Sister" was my entry in the Summer Sin Celebration 2021. Briefly, the Summer Sin was a Secret Santa-style exchange, in which you make a request for a pairing and a kink, and that's given to someone else to write, and then you receive in exchange someone else's request to write. My assignment was for "Flitter and Cloudchaser" as the pairing, and "rough" as the kink. (I requested "Fluttershy and Thunderlane, in public/with an audience." It's here! It's excellent! I love it!)

What makes the Summer Sin acceptable to me is that when joining, you can list things you refuse to write. I listed, for instance, "Brother/sister, parent/child, or age-difference incest; abuse; foalcon; scat; rape or rape play, mind control, violence, dubcon, or etc.; various generalized icky like lactation, farts, diapers, etc.; ass to mouth; futa; vore;" as my hard-no list. I have written some crazy stuff, but I write for fun and getting any of those kinks would have made it not fun for me. So big thanks to Shakes, Petrichord, and the crew for their excellent organization of the exchange. I imagine it was a royal pain in the ass to accommodate forty people's dozens of demands; a sparse high-dimensional hypersurface seems like a good metaphor, and they navigated it expertly. 

I also went a little out of my way, beyond the requirements of the contest, and listed things I would write. This list included "sister/sister or cousin incest (if small age difference)" and "light masochism (biting, clawing, spanking)." None of those are fetishes I seek out, but they also don't bother me if I find an otherwise appealing fic that features them. I figured, with my extremely comprehensive list of NOPES, I could make it easier on the organizers by explicitly listing my EEYUPS.

Needless to say, my assignment was rough sex between two sisters! My lane is definitely male/female pairings; my previous two FF stories didn't do well, and my fingers are still burned. ("Icemoon" should have gone out with a T-rating, and "A Very Minty Christmas" should have been Davenport, not Fleur de Lis. Mea maxima culpa.) 

I'd actually not planned to write any more FF clop. 99+% of my clop reading is FM (or FFM, FFFM, FFFFM...) stories, so FF just isn't my bailiwick. I hope that what I wrote here was sexy and quality, even if it is in multiple ways outside of my usual wheelhouse. I apologize if it wasn't what my recipient hoped for! I tried, I really did.

And speaking of my recipient—after writing my first draft, I looked at Patches in Equestria's story catalog and found a Flitter and Cloudchaser story:

That short description ticks quite a few of my 'no-thank-you' boxes, but I waded in anyway, to get an idea of what my recipient might like.

Am I ever glad I did! 

I seldom read incest stories, and although I consider myself an LGBTQ ally I don't read many fics about trans characters, but this story was so well written it sucked me in and I read it in a single sitting. I am a cishet male, but this story really struck a chord with me, making me feel Flitter's emotional ups and downs as she went through her daily life. I highly recommend this story. The ultimate aim of art—any art—is to make the audience feel, to make the audience think, to make the audience see the world just a little differently afterwards than they saw before, and this story succeeded admirably in that respect. "Flitter's Friday" is now on my user page as one of my recommended stories, a very exclusive list. (Not that I have illusions about people caring about my opinions!)

To summarize, the Summer Sin Celebration this year was a lot of fun, and I'm glad I participated. I hope my contribution was good, and I regret it cannot hold a candle to the deep and emotional "Flitter's Friday" by Patches in Equestria.
