To Fleur or not to Fleur? That is the question. · 1:26pm Jul 10th, 2021
In the last couple of days, I've finally began the process of moving forward with my writing. Hearing that may excite some and bum out others, as I have noticed that I can be very wordy compared to other writers out there. I think that looking back, even though I was introducing an original character and a new concept in "The Blue and the Grey" (namely the Royal Flying Corps), I really could have used an editor to help keep me from rambling so much and help me cut to the chase.
But, it is what it is, and I don't think that changing it now is necessary. So I drive on, and try to allot some time during my day to read some more of the other stories out there. I did stumble on one recently that caught my eye, though it is certainly not for everyone out there, as it has the mature rating. I'm not sure if I should name it, as I don't want to bring the wrong kind of attention to it, but it involves a relationship, or at least a potential one, between Sci-Twi and Fleur de Lis. In creating this story, the writer establishes that Fleur had a long term interest, but was extremely uncomfortable about approaching Twilight, which was a surprising concept to me, and a delight to read.
Have any of you tried to make use of Fleur as a character? I've got plans to eventually get her into "Danger Close", but what about her works, or doesn't work in your mind? I do remember seeing her as a Crystal Prep student, but I wasn't impressed with how they drew her, as she reminded me a bit too much of "Animaniacs" character Minerva Mink, not what one would expect for a human character. What do the rest of you think?
