Season 2 Mini Episode 3 Up! (July 9th) · 10:14pm Jul 9th, 2021

Hello my lovely readers! Season 2’s third mini episode, “You Can Lead a Horse to Water…” is now available to read.

So, let’s go into a bit of detail on this one. Spoilers to follow.

We’d intended for a while to do one on Belle and Inanna, showcasing their talents as therapists. Originally this was going to focus on an entirely different set of subjects, watching them as they went through a typical day, getting to know the characters better in that regard.

But we changed our minds given the issues re Twilight. While I did want her issues to be brought up by Belle eventually, it was intended to be as part of a main episode, not a mini. We stepped up our plans here. And as you can see, she and Inanna effectively gave Twilight a verbal beatdown, the so-called slap in the face so many of you wanted.

I hope this was quite enjoyable.

In writing news, the buffer grows. I might get to surge back ahead of the game like I was before. That’d be quite nice.

Thank you my lovely readers. See you Wednesday for mini episode 4!

Honestly, as someone who hates interpersonal conflict like this, I’m really glad y’all moved up the timeline. I didn’t think you were going to leave Twilight in that state forever, but it was still making me anxious every time a new chapter got posted. :twilightsheepish: Anyway, the fic is excellent. Thanks for posting it!

What had worried me was how Twilight held onto a coping mechanism so uncharacteristic of her 'normal' behaviors in the canon universe. Granted, this is AU, and authors can and do change behaviors to suit their narrative; but speaking for myself...I get more of a kick out of a 'Twilight twilighting twily-nanas' core meltdown no matter the universe she's in. You read it, nod your head sagely, and say, "No matter what or where, Twilight is always Twilight."

I understand where you were coming from. I wouldn't have gone that way...but I WILL DEFEND TO THE DEATH your right to try.

As Picard once said: "I choose to try." That was one of the few moments in the series where you pause, scratch your head, and realize the profound gravitas of that statement. Four simple words.

"I choose to try."

Those were the words in my heart when I wrote my first story. And every story since, they lurk in the back of my mind.

Choose to try, Dewdrops.
