FINALLY
Without You will be finished, and before my birthday next month too, so this is an early bday gift for me.
it's finished. Right now I'm editing the chapter and having some good people look it over, but soon it'll be ready for uploading.
Before the 23rd of January, 2018 to when I first posted it, it had been in development hell since I joined the MLP fandom back in late 2013, even before then. It is now the 26 of June 2021... I feel nothing but relief having finished my magnum opus after so long, I'm happy, I'm relieved.
Few understand how much this means to me personally, and I can't wait to post it.
Thank you all for being so patient with me and joining me on this journey over the years, it's been a blast.
Time to see where the rest of this journey takes us.

Congratulations on completing the story

I will admit, I was not with the story since it’s beginning, but I am glad I decided to give this story a chance, as it grew on me and ultimately became one of my favorite in-progress stories today. It will be interesting to see where the story is heading in the future, but it sometimes is good to look back and be proud of the amount of progress you have made with this milestone.
Looking at you recent blog posts, you mentioned in one of the comments:
I would like to add my own thoughts to that idea. I think that this would be the best way to progress the series, as this would not only allow for Dustin to see how his (and rainbow’s
) interference has effected the world as a whole, but it would also set the framework for Umbrella becoming a constant threat for our main characters as well, through dimensions and the like if you are going that way. This would also be a cool opportunity for Dustin to gain some allies from the other survivors he is with, and if they decided to assist him throughout his dimensional travel, that would an interesting twist to the story. And personally, there is no need to rush the story and have a different crossover per story. I would be perfectly fine if the sequel is the same crossover because you needed some time to make the story more expansive and explore different aspects of it. Bottom line is, change crossovers when you want too, not because you have too

P.S: when I was writing this, I came up with the most hilarious idea with Umbrella. Should they happen to find Dustin’s (re: our) world and figure out that entire universes are controlled there, it would be funny seeing them trying to buy out the likes of Capcom for the Resident Evil IP. The thinking be like “it’s a video game company, they’re not worth much, so we can buy them pretty easily” true, in 1998. But I don’t think they counted for the time difference between their world and ours being in 2021

So, Chapter 23 will be the final chapter of the story? It feels like I'm missing everything with it. I hope I can finally read it all the way to the end very soon.
And the journey will continue afterwards with a sequel, right?

Funny you should mention that. I thought about doing different crossovers for the sequel; that being Dee and Rainbow going from one world to the next, with Resident Evil being a sort of prime world if that makes sense? It'd be ridiculous though, and I'd be pushing a lot of limits with it and I'm not sure how people would react to it, some may be in favor of it because it would be an adventure story with some romance, on the other hand, I'd be throwing a bunch of random shit I like together, lmao.
The most likely route I can see myself going with the sequel; Rainbow and Dee end up being residents of the Resident Evil universe, and end up either becoming a part of the BSAA or some other organization and trying to survive in a world where bioterrorism is on the rise. That's what I'm thinking, but also because it would let me explore some things involving Umbrella becoming a more prominent threat, perhaps.
I might make a poll about it when the chapter is published and the story itself finally finished.

23 will be the final chapter, yes. It does feel kind of strange, but hopefully, it will close out the story on a good note and people will be satisfied. As for the continuation, yes, there will most definitely be a sequel in the works ^^

Oh definitely, there will be a sequel and like I said to Sonic, I don't know quite where I'll take it. I might put up a poll for everyone to vote on what they'd prefer to see.

Yeah, that would be understandable. There is a reason after all why there are few mega-crossovers in fandoms in general, one being that those take significant time and investment into making them and two, being that everyone’s likes are different, it would only appeal to a few people. I think a poll would be a great idea to judge people’s interests in which way to go, but I am fairly confident that the poll will agree with me on going with option two. Though I will admit I would love to see a way in which you could incorporate other crossovers seamlessly with the main plot. An example of this would be like, Dustin and Rainbow unable to get to Equestria because of how the world was designed, but found a way to get around it by getting into the MLP G1 dimension. Thanks to it’s glitchy nature, they could then progress through the other generations to get to the correct Equestria. Bioshock could work too thanks to the Easter eggs, but that would be up to you.
