Hivehunter merely kept his head hung low as the changeling queen shouted. “She did. I mean… I guess I should’ve known she wouldn’t feel the same way about me.”
Chrysalis growled. “It’s nowhere near a passable excuse for her to treat you that way, even if she doesn’t romantically like you back. If I ever find this ‘Snapdragon’ I will—”
“Don’t. It’s… it’s just not worth it.”
The changeling queen sighed heavily, grabbing a cloth and wiping Hivehunter’s face, specifically where Snapdragon spat on him.
