I LOVE AMITY BLIGHT!!! · 1:23am Jun 24th, 2021
Ever since I've first witnessed her character arc and characterization in a YouTube character analysis about her, I instantly loved this adorable bully turned friend turned lover. She is such a well-rounded character with a fast, yet still gradual redemption arc. Now here are the reasons why I think she's one of, if not completely, my favorite character in the Owl House.
Quick note: This isn't another villain critique since while Amity did start off as an antagonist, she never was a genuine villain and her character quickly, but steadily turned her into one of the heroes in the first season of the show.
Anyway, here we go:
- Her design is so well-made and is able to pull off some really cute and adorable expressions.
- Her personality is three-dimensional, even before her development.
- The way of how her archetype was written made her very unique among the other characters with that similar archetype.
- The way she switches from a bully, to a friend and potential love interest for the main protagonist, Luz Noceda, is very cohesive, believable and dynamic as a whole.
- Speaking of which, her crush on Luz because of her endearing kindness and helping her become a nicer person again is both cute and genuine.
- The way her parents, especially her mom, treated her ever since she was younger really made us sympathize with her in spite of her previously toxic behavior.
- Her relationship with Willow and Gus, the former especially, is very genuine and heartwarming, as well as heartbreaking when we realize that she was blackmailed into ending her friendship with Willow by her parents, but soon slowly rekindle it thanks to Luz.
- Her relationship with her older twin siblings, despite their pranks, are very sweet and mutual.
- She is such an adorable lover when crushing on Luz.
- And finally, there's still a lot of development that I would love to see from her as the series goes on. Like her relationship with Eda since they barely interact with each other, her interactions with Lilith and what she would do if she found out about her actions, and, obviously, her and Luz finally becoming an official couple since Luz is finally becoming less oblivious to her romantic love for her.

As a fan of The Owl House, everything you said about Amity is totally spot on. After standing up to her Karen of a mother, I do hope that she lives a better life with Luz, Willow, and Gus because she truly deserves a genuine and kind support group that encourages her to be who she wants to be.
