Look, I know it's been ages since I published a new chapter of the Awesome Spider-Dash, and I just want to apologise for that. At first it was just pure laziness and writers block (you know, the usual), but lately it's more been fear and shame that has stopped me from writing.
So here's the deal. I briefly published a short one shot where after the season 9 finale, the real Grogar showed up and ended up frustrated because everyone thought he was still Discord in disguise. It was just a small bit of silly fun that no one was meant to take seriously. I even said so in the author's note.
What happened instead was that people used the comment section to argue serious moral issues about the series finale, where I only occasionally pitched in with my own opinions. Most adamantly though, I urged people to take that discussion somewhere else. When they didn't, I eventually got so frustrated that I felt the need to delete a few comments that were very rude and were not relevant to the story, mostly to avoid a flame war. Those people responded to that by downvoting everything I've ever made as well as all the comments you guys left on my stories. I eventually deleted the story itself from Fimfiction just to get out of that mess, but that didn't really help anything. Eventually, I managed to communicate with someone who knew who the downvoters were, and apologised for how badly I handled the situation, and they managed to convince at least one of them to remove some of their downvotes.
While the situation is mostly resolved by now, the whole mess made me fall into a depression and for months I've been legit terrified of people harassing me for publishing fanfics or stating my opinions of the show online.
For me, the thing that hurt the most wasn't that people didn't like what I wrote, I could take that. The thing that hurt me the most were people claiming I was a selfish jerk and deserved the treatment I got...as well as the fact that they decided to punish my fans instead of just me for something that I did. Revenge by proxy sickens me to no end, and there's nothing I hate more than people thinking I'm an asshole when I honestly never intended to hurt anyone.
I'm not writing this to make you feel sorry for me. I'm just explaining why I haven't been providing you with any new content for a while. I don't know when, or even if, I'll get back to it, but I'm sorry for being absent for so long, and I'm sorry your comments got downvoted. You guys truly didn't deserve that.

The people who went and wasted their time on downvoting your work and comments are all just a bunch of jerks. I’ve followed your work for almost 2 years now and I’ve absolutely loved it. Keep your head high and ignore any unnecessary hate you’ve gotten.

I did not post this blog post in order to spite the downvoters. This is not because of a grudge. I posted this to explain my absence to my readers and apologise to them for not posting any new chapters in awhile. In order to that, I had to explain the reasons why I was gone for so long in the first place. It's really that simple. There's no agenda, no grudge, no spite, it's just me explaining things to my readers.

Makes sense since I'm on the autism spectrum as well. It's also way too easy to misinterpret comments on the internet given that you can't hear a person's tone of voice or see their face.

I was planning on returning to this one for quite a while, but...well, after I eventually came back from my funk after the whole mess described in this blog post, I had lost interest in continuing this particular story, and also after Friendship is Magic ended, I wanted to move on to writing for a completely different fandom.
My next project is going to be in The Legend of Zelda universe, but won't be posted to this site because, you know, no ponies. Though I do have an account on both 'Fanfiction.net' and 'Archive of Our Own' where I'll continue posting stories, so if you enjoyed my writing, feel free to check my stuff out there.
