Hello again, guys. Here is my review of Sunset’s Backstage Pass, the fourth of the five special episodes of Equestria Girls. It appears that we are now back to its classic mediocrity as it brings before us an inconsequential plot along with unfunny running gags, bland humor, and weak new characters. This would have been a much better episode—scratch that, this would have probably been the best of the five specials had they actually been more careful and selective with its villains and brought forth a much more dangerous threat like a doomsday device along with a creative plot. But that’s just me.

Aside from the good moments Sunset had in this episode, Pinkie was just UNBEARABLE in this entire special. The worst part of this is that in most cases (not all) in which Sunset did something out of anger or frustration, this episode painted her as in the wrong and Pinkie as the victim. My Little Pony did the exact same thing to Rainbow Dash in that atrocious Parental Glideance episode. If any episode pulls that crap on a character for doing something understandably reasonable, I instantly lose all respect for it.

Another thing I hated about this episode is that nothing that happened was of any consequence. For one moment, for example, we had a sad moment between Pinkie and Sunset because of something hurtful the latter said to Pinkie then in the next transition, we go back to Sunset waking up all happy on day 1 because of the time loop. The plot device is what deprived this episode of any real stakes and actual consequences to take full effect on the characters.

PostCrush were clearly one of the weakest antagonists I’ve ever seen along with their equally stupid reformation, and the returning Dazzlings being used as a red herring was just ridiculous. Although it was nice seeing them again and weren’t technically reformed, they really needed to be the villains in this.

Almost everything was just a complete mess. For that reason, I grade this an F. Possibly the worst Equestria Girls episode that exists, and I will never set my eyes on this stupidity ever again. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my review of Holiday Unwrapped.

Peace.

Not to mention the concept is a complete cliche.

I thought that the special was fine the way it was.

To me, it’s not the worst of the EG installments, that credit goes to “Rollercoaster of Friendship”.

I hated this special.
