On Writing "When Tsundere Meets Sassy"

Ashamed to admit, I'm way more proud of that title than I should be. So the May Pairing Contest was something I saw advertised last year, and on a whim, I thought I'd give it a shot since trying to figure out the dynamics of two characters you never see interact in the show itself is an interesting writing challenge. What came out was Plus Ones, and although I wasn't completely satisfied with the story it did receive a good amount of praise.

So all the more reason to write a story for this year's contest! Considering I've been writing Bluebird chapters for multiple weekends, a simple slice of life story about Smolder dealing with a sassy fashion manager would be a nice change of pace. I initially predicted it would be under two thousand words, it ultimately ended up being around 2.4 thousand words. The writing was fairly streamlined too, even despite getting food poisoning over the weekend, so my energy was mostly gone by Sunday.

Originally, I intended to write the story in the present tense, which I managed to get through... mostly. I was struggling with some lines, and when I had someone on the FiMFiction Discord proofread the story they said it would have been easier to switch it back to past tense.

So I'm glad to see this story featured briefly, the few comments from people liking the story, and the number of stories being featured in way more groups. Because of the work this weekend, there won't be a Bluebird chapter this week, probably for the best since I need to revise my plan.
