My Little Pony Movie News 05/07/2021 · 12:19pm May 7th, 2021

GOOOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!!!

HEY!!! That's my line! *Sighs* Hit the music...

GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker and Occasional Singer keeping you up to date with the latest news for the Generation 5 movie and beyond! As we all know in regard to the upcoming movie, Generation 5 will also include a television run to air alongside the movie on Netflix (Whom have graciously brought in the project to air when its original theatrical release was cancelled). And a lot of folks have been going around, asking: How are they going to do the series? Will it be animated in the same style as the movie? Or will it be 2D, hand-drawn animated?

Considering for the matter that most hand-drawn animation is all but obsolete (Except for the case of Japan and other countries still using the technique), it's difficult for me to even suggest the possibility. Then again, if you've seen how some of the cast look when they are drawn in the hand-style format:

Yeah... I wouldn't feel confident in this myself.

Then again, the animation could've turned out a whole lot worse than that in my opinion (Not suggesting they look bad in 2D animated, in case you get ideas). But just as an example:

Yeah... somebody definitely needed to take an art class...

WHY DON'T YOU SEE HOW EXPENSIVE THEY ARE?!

OKAY, OKAY!!!

*Clears throat* Speaking of art, we have just received word that the Vancouver based 'Atomic Cartoons' have opened up applications for a few CG designer roles for the upcoming Netflix 'My Little Pony' series. You heard that right folks: Not only will the series ALSO be in CG, following the movie on that front, but they are already seeking 'applications' for the upcoming series. For those who don't know what Atomic Cartoons 'are', they are a Canadian animation studio that has been founded in 1999 and have put together various cartoons over the years. Including:

Courage the Cowardly Dog, Max & Ruby, Atomic Betty, Johnny Test, Transformers: Rescue Bots, and, I know what you're thinking, even 'Spider-Man Unlimited'...

That's right... 'that' Spider-Man series.

Overall, in light of this news, I can't say for sure how long this application process is going to turn out or how many people they are actually looking for. But for those who 'are' seeking an opportunity to demonstrate their artistic skills or if you 'know' some people interested in doing something with their lives other than fan stuff, the place to fill out the job application itself is right down the paragraph below:

My Little Pony Generation 5 Series Application

The requirements for the position are very simple:

Having prior CG work experience
A strong, diverse portfolio (Speaking from someone who's applied for jobs, 'very' important)
The ability to work in Canada (Legally, the process could be painful)
The 'willingness' to learn (Or at least 'motivated' enough to collaborate your ideas in a professional environment)

If you feel you don't feel you meet any of those requirements but you have plenty of friends who can or friends who 'know' some guys looking for the biggest break of their lives, this job is the right one for you or them. As for me working in the animation department... unless they are hiring a potential script writer, no way could I do it (I mostly edit other people's work on this site... 'for free', don't even ask me what I'd charge otherwise). Still, you may want to start thinking about your decision very, very quickly. Remember the old saying:

Opportunity knocks but once, so make this count while you still can.

And now, the bigger question remains: What do you think?

Be sure to leave a comment below in case you find the prospect itself 'interesting' OR if you find you can recommend this to someone, whether if it's a best friend, a neighbor, a colleague, or just someone really desperate for work.

Until then faithful readers, this is the Dramamaster829... signing off!

*Sighs* Well, that about wraps it up. Signing up for a job for a television series. I don't think it's going to happen that fast...

*Opens the door, eyes widen*

*Pause* Well... this should be interesting.

05/072021 Update 1:50 pm

We have just received word that a big name from the 'Friendship is Magic' community will be included as part of the development team for the upcoming Gen 5 series. For those familiar with the name Rebecca Dart (Probably the one to thank for the introduction of the 'Kirin' into the series), she has confirmed that she will be working on the Netflix series for 'Atomic Cartoons' as one of the art directors. For those interesting in applying for the position, those up-and-coming artists will be granted the opportunity to work with one of the biggest names from 'Friendship is Magic' fame now transcending into what is sure to be the future of the MLP franchise in general.

honestly, I didn't mind spiderman unlimited it only had what 1 season

Yeah... one season that ended on a cliffhanger. We never really knew how it was going to end (Not even 'Into the Spiderverse' covered that).

It's funny how Blitzo is not only a mood but also right about art I'm not one to judge art as long as the show is good. Animation isn't what draws me into a show. It's the characters

5514557
Well, for me good animation is an important quality for the series. But that's just one out of many things that make a great show. We also have to be able to enjoy a show for its storytelling, unforgettable characters... and musical numbers. Being it's an MLP series, I really hope the musical numbers are catchy.

5514566 I see that as a fair point

5514591
It's too bad the company is just looking for CG designers, not script writers. I wasn't even good at Art Class back in Elementary School.

5514593 It could be a lot worse

5514673
Oh yes... it can always be worse.

They could be looking for a script writer, and to test their potential they'd send a fluff piece of a propose synopsis, not to make an official episode but to test to see if they can pull off a solid transcript (Course we'd have to see the movie in advance). I'd send in my copy, wait a couple weeks, and by the time I get a response, they'd be like:

'You're a very talented writer, Dramamaster, and we saw what you were trying to do. But unfortunately, you're just not what we're looking for.'

And 'that' is how it could be worse.

I did not realize Blitzo had added a bunch of ponies to the poster that had nothing to do with anything.

He certainly does love his ponies. The dude's definitely a brony or something. You should've seen how he swooned over that one horse in episode 5.
