WARNING: THIS JOURNAL HAS SPOILERS OF PONY LIFE SEASON 2, IT'S BETTER IF YOU WATCH IT FIRST.

Season 2 has already been released and I was not even ready for it, especially to over-exaggerating faces and movements from the Mane Six. Thankfully, I was able to relax and stop thinking about comparing this to G4, and I was able to watch the first episode of Pony Life. So here is my review of these two short segments. Next time, I'll try to watch the second episode.

Episode 1a: Cute Impact

Let's start with the first segment titled, "Cute Impact". From the title card itself, this reminds me of the 1998 film, Deep Impact, where the giant meteor crashed into the Atlantic Ocean and caused a very enormous tsunami that killed millions of people in different coastal cities like New York City.

It all started at the Sugarcube Corner, where, of course, the Mane Six were doing something crazy as usual. I can't remember what they're doing. Then Twilight came in with a giant portable planetarium, called the Celestia Scoop, that can let astronomers study the stars and space. As Twilight's friends fell into a deep sleep when she announces that who really wants to study Astronomy, Twilight was outside with a telescope studying. She saw beautiful constellations. A while later, she saw a pink star-like body getting bigger and closer, knowing that it is an asteroid that was about to strike Earth. Yep, I'm getting the Deep Impact vibes here. Oh boy. I called it. I knew that she was going to be twilighting afterward, she was in complete panic mode already, same as in G4.

Her friends were very puzzled about why she's like that. And guess what, Twilight didn't tell them. Why? Because they don't want to get in trouble, of course. Twilight then was at the library to do deep research, and then her friends showed up again to see what's going on. And again, she didn't tell them. That's where they started to, you know, sneak up to find out. I won't tell you how they do that, but it's pretty stupid. Finally, her friends found out already on the impact and explained to them why she didn't tell them. I mean, she's the Princess of Friendship, hello? She can't just hide or be silent on what's something sinister going on. Really! She. Just. Can't. Do. That.

And to end it, her friends then told her that the asteroid she saw was actually what they called a "Cosmic Cotton Candy Comet", which arrived once in a lifetime. Really? Who called that a Cotton Candy Comet? And it says that it brought sugary space crystals that are edible for desserts. It was a remarkable discovery they said. Seriously? I don't remember seeing anything from space that is edible. We don't eat hard space rocks or gassy bugs from other planets. And wait a minute, I thought that crystals were edible for dragons only like Spike, Smolder, Garble, and Ember. Since when the ponies started to eat crystals? That doesn't make any sense.

Moving on.

Episode 1b: The Crystal Capturing Contraption

Here's the second segment of the first episode titled, "The Crystal Capturing Contraption". This is the continuation of 1a I assumed. From the title itself, I'm guessing that's the name of a machine that Pinkie's holding over there, like a giant vacuum cleaner.

The episode started out with Fluttershy setting up a workplace outside with her camera, laptop, and some papers on the ground. Rarity came and asked her if she's filming. Again, she's going full drama when it comes to acting on film. Fluttershy said that following her success on her previous unboxing video (from the episode "Unboxing Day"), she is going to be a news reporter. What? A news reporter? C'mon, Fluttershy can only rely on taking good care of animals instead of that, you know that she's shy. Also, how can a successful YouHoof (Equestria's version of YouTube) video can make you hired as a reporter? Anyways, she said that she'll be reporting on the Cosmic Cotton Candy Comet which will be arriving soon or later. Wow, the continuity is real!!! Rarity then suggests that she'll do the interviews with her friends, and agrees. When I first watch this, I thought that she's more of a vlogger than a news reporter.

Fluttershy first interviewed Rainbow Dash in the middle of a workout, but she like: "Nah, I'm in the middle of the workout." Then to Twilight, but she's been ignored (Princess of Friendship, everypony). Then to Applejack, but she said that she's more concerned about her harvest than the comet itself. Then to Rarity, she was about to talk about the comet and then deflects on the topic and focused on something else. Wow, Rarity, your ego is getting worse if you keep doing that.

With no one else to interview, Pinkie was the only one left who hasn’t been interviewed yet. So, she decided to do that. At Sugarcube Corner, she saw her building a giant vacuum or something. Pinkie said that she build that to catch the sugary crystals from the sky and use it as ingredients for her treats. Again, since when did they eat crystals? Fluttershy was excited and decided to follow her to capture the footage.

Pinkie is now at the volcano to be close to the crystal’s currents. She wasn’t able to reach them, because, duh, that is very far, like 1000 kilometers away. Of course, she can’t reach space from there. With the help from Fluttershy, who only focuses on the news report, Pinkie apologized to her as Fluttershy explains her failure as a reporter, and then worked together.

Of course, with Fluttershy’s “superpower”, she grew herself carrying Pinkie Pie to space and used that vacuum to suck up all the crystals. First of all, where’s your space helmet, Pinkie? You’ll die with the lack of oxygen. Fluttershy just grew past the ozone layer and the whole atmosphere. I didn’t she grew that as big as a Titan from an anime show. Again, we don’t know how did she get that strange power. Maybe the portions, I think? Whatever!

In the end, Fluttershy did end up reporting and getting the footage. And then we cut to the news station with “Zecora” and a green pony. The End. That’s it.

So, what’re my overall thoughts on the first episode? Not bad, but the logic just got me. Pinkie Pie didn’t wear a helmet and didn’t die. And when‘s the last did they started to eat crystals?! I mean, only dragons can.

I going to rank the first episode a 6/10.
