Hey, guys. Today, I will be reviewing one of the most classic films from Pixar by the name of Finding Nemo. It is one of my favorite Pixar films of all time and a wonderful piece of art that really resonated with me when I was much younger. Even to this day, I really love this movie, and I think we can all agree that some of the things thereof stuck with us after watching this so many times before. To be fair, it has also helped me to be optimistic in life and never lose hope despite any stressful situation and hard circumstances. It has really done a great job giving the audience a message about a parent’s love for his/her child and how precious that relationship is.

Moreover, Nemo was genuinely an enjoyable character. We see him so full of fun, innocent curiosity, joy, and excitement. By seeing him go through these life-threatening challenges and realizing how much he loves and misses his father is really amazing to watch. I gotta say the same for Marlin. He is such a loving and cautious father to Nemo although he was a little too overprotective. I can’t really blame him though because he lost both his wife and nearly all their children except for Nemo. So you can easily tell whenever he gets easily worried or stressed, it’s all about Nemo and making sure he never gets lost because he is now the only family member (specifically child) he has left.

Plus, Marlin is one of the very few parents in animation history who actually behave as authority figures unlike plenty of other animated cartoon parents who act like complete idiots and sycophants. This makes me like him a lot more. Albert Brooks did a great job in conveying that type of character in Marlin. However, the writers took the name “clown fish” a little too literally it seems. Not that I have a problem with that, but come on, Marlin, you gotta keep working on making creative jokes and not explain them otherwise they won’t be funny! That’s a good thing he never crossed paths with The Joker.

Dory is one of my favorite characters in this film. Her iconic line, “Just keep swimming!” is one of those things I and my family often repeated almost quite often including random times. Not only is it a sweet and funny line but it’s an encouraging and motivational one also. Just keep swimming through the way full of troubles and difficulties until you reach at the end of the road and gain the victory. Never give up!

The secondary characters were amazing in their own way, a few of whom were Crush, Gill (voiced by Willem Dafoe), Bruce, and Nigel. I loved all the characters in this including the silent characters such as the jellyfish, the whale, and that lantern fish. The animation is wonderfully done well, the voice acting is great, and the character interaction and dialogue were solid.

This movie technically doesn’t have a villain unless you want to count the random divers and fishers as the antagonists, but as I said before, you don’t always need a villain to make a great story. Sometimes, a story that contains such high stakes and dangerous yet fun adventures like this is more than enough. I will give this a 12/10. A brilliant, emotional movie done well that has earned the title of “one of Pixar’s best classic movies”!

Peace! 🎵Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming...🎵

I always thought the beginning was a little too dark for a child's movie.

I love how the sharks sound bored when you only listen to the audio of the scene.

Also, another childhood Pixar film of mine, among some of my favorites. Haven’t covered all childhood favorites of mine, though ;)
