Why is my OC hated so much? · 5:29pm Apr 2nd, 2021
Sorry to ask this again and I'm afraid that it looks like I'm still spamming, but as the title suggests, why is my OC hated so much? Is it because I've advertised him too much to the point of spam? Or is it because of his existence in general? If so, why or why not? Sorry to say this, but the latter feels kinda harsh to me and I've seen at least some people who still like him and/or think that he has a reason to exist. Still, I really want to know why.
Well It may be because of that or the audience doesn't connect with him, are his motivations realistic and understandable and most importantly does his personality strike a cord with the audience where they want him to succeed

You may have a point. Though one person said that he's a good character because of his great backstory, clear motive for what he does, and amazing characterization. I just really want to know why the audience can't connect with him and what can I do to fix that besides just getting rid of him altogether.
I don't hate your oc. I like his design.

Thanks.
I mean his language is kinda of simple and his rants a bit repetitive. For example he says "evil pony" to the Main Six multiple times; sometimes without bothering to frame it in a sentence. Speaking for myself, it gets old fast.
Giving him a more advanced vocabulary or toning down the number of rants he has might help.
5488862
Thanks. How do I do that, though, and can you give me some examples that might work?
5488854
Though, I'm sorry to ask this, but can you give me a more deeper, detailed, and tangible answer for why you like Odium in terms of design, backstory, etc? I'm just asking.
5488858
You're welcome!
5488883
Because he was a poor creature who just misunderstood Twilight and her friends because of his teacher.
5488886
Thank you, and I don't mean to be rude or ungrateful, but can you PM me a full review of why you like Odium as a whole if you want?
5488891
Why?
5488893
I just need your fullest and most tangible opinion for why you love Odium so much. I'm sorry if I'm being so demanding or spamming, though.
Most Oc’s are hated you gotta make him relatable/have him fail and make mistakes sometimes make things a struggle don’t just make them good at things
maybe we should compare notes.
an OC must have a background and what thrived them to live.
they must have flaws other wise it would be either over powered or Mary Sue which no people would ever like.
Not sure if you read mature fictions? but however, if you do read them you should look at mine... If you don't read mature then read my personal T fiction Clown Mare.
I'm sure you'll get some inspiration on that.

Thanks.

Thanks.

What do you think of my OC? Is he a Mary Sue? If so, why or why not?
Odium

0_0 taking out the main six and discord... ummm... what is this place again???? = fim fiction.... loveable characters are main six and discord. :3 oc tries to conquer? In perspective either your story didn't have a great plan to take them out and the reason to... or your story might be a bit shallow to take them on and the reason why your oc is doing it.
Some better advice.... Make a new character make a pony and make it adorable...
taking on discord is like making your character go through an impossible win... discord controls the time continuum (Q from star trek formula)
If the story continues... we already know the ending of your character... unless... you want to reform your character and taking on the evil person who send him to his own death.
as dr. strange would of said. "there are many possible combinations to make it right only 1 out of 1 million outcomes.

How about a pony OC who gets tired of Equestria's usually backwards justice system? Or a nymph/butterfly evil scientist who becomes the Mane Six and their friends' arch-frenemy?
Also, I'm not trying to be rude or mean when I ask this, but what's wrong with using/creating a non-pony OC?
Also, also, is my OC really that bad/badly-written?
5489489
so your trying to make an oc being a villain?
5489507
I think so. I've written some OCs that are heroes, though not necessarily in the MLP fandom. More in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. If you want to see them, here are some links to their wiki pages:
Sid the Hero
Clover Hagen
Alex Edurus
Rana Franklin
Sandra Franklin
Bob Franklin

Well, while Odium is supposed to be a sympathetic and redeemable antagonist done right, he's also supposed to get punished for his crimes in a way that fits one of the main themes/messages of the story he debutted in:
Odium is still extremely in the wrong for what he did and wants to pay for it out of extreme remorse, self-hatred, and acceptance of how horrible and violent he's become.
5489516
hmmmmm, the only greatest villain's that did good was maybe a few that I know.
but however, they had a lot of plot twists and turns to make them evil.
5489530
What do you mean?
5489531
still reading the back ground story and such past and history.
5489545
Okay. Thanks.
5489547
well, I guess we'll have to see how many fictions will Odium have.
5489507
What do you think of my more heroic Sonic OCs?
5489649
not a big fan of sonic... but they seem alright.
5489651
Okay. Thanks.
5489661
the only game I like was shadow the headage hog... But everyone never liked it. the reason why I like it because it wasn't random it was a rich story between dark and light and taking paths as an rpg.
5489664
Oh. Okay. Sorry to continue asking this, but which Sonic OC is your favorite out of the ones I've showed you and why?
5489672
Sandra Franklin. Why you ask? because I like passionate characters.
5489675
Okay. Thanks.
5489545
One last question. What do you think of the background history and past?
5490073
it's not very good. However, I have seen worse.
5490081
What's wrong with it?
5490086
>.> that was to be the last question.
5490088
Oh. Sorry about that.
5490090
i'll answer it tomorrow.
5490092
Okay. Thanks.
