Extension and Recovery

So, Just Around the Corner is out now, and as such, I've decided to split the final chapter of Super in an effort to push myself to actually get the damn thing done. You can now read the first half of it, titled 'Finale IX: Vengeance' and I'm hoping to get the next half out next week now that I've: recovered from whatever sickness had me, rewritten the parts that I lost, and have a clear direction on where I'm going with the last act of the story.

That said, I think I'm still in a depressed state, I'm just handling it better than I have before. I've been lower than this, I'll get lower than this, and I'll recover from it. It just sucks right now, and all I can really do is push through it. Perhaps I could solve it if my external situation changed, or I found something that makes me feel secure about my position in life, but again, there's only so much I can do about it. If I stop trying, nothing will ever change, so, c'est la vie.

I think, moving forward, I'll use pony fiction to test out ideas I have. At the moment, I'm thinking that Star Overhead will be converted into an original story (while keeping the heavy FLCL influence) and expanded into it's own idea. As much as I love Super and all the other things I've written here and elsewhere, Star Overhead still sticks out to me as something I was truly inspired to write, and something I really want to go back into. I've thought about little side stories that take place after the end of the story, a sequel that focuses on Pinkie, perhaps rewriting the epilogue to leave room for something that happens during the girls highschool days. Who knows.

Either way, it's something to think about. I also wrote an outline for another story in the bright future unrelated to the ones I've had, so ya know. Something will happen, that I'm sure of. Whether it's good or bad, well. I'm not the guy to ask.
