Debunking (Whether or not you should meddle/tamper with things)

So, when some child is being beaten up by an abusive parent, you should NOT help them! When a person is sick and dying of pneumonia, you should not help them! That's right people, Mykan thinks you should NEVER... EVER help anyone. You should leave them alone, and let them suffer! Yeah. That's the way he thinks."

I have never heard such propaganda, nor have I seen such twisted contradiction all for the sake of mockery.

I'll tell you what started all this...

It's one of those concepts of fiction that I like to use in my fics, and has been used many times by other people.

"Sometimes things are the way they are for a reason, and if you go making changes that shouldn't be made... you could up in a whole mess of trouble."

That is the exact quote, yet for some reason, those idiots go SOMETIMES means NEVER, and they comparing child abuse and ailments that SHOULD be helped to things that are NOTHING compared to what that quote actually refers to...

We're not talking not helping an abused child
We're not dealing with someone who is sick and needs medical treatment

...We're talking about things that could cause immense amounts of trouble.

First: I'll tell you where I got the quote from, and what inspired me to use it...

It comes from an episode of ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK: THE TALE OF THE DEADMAN'S FLOAT

It's a Water Zombie.

The Pool was built in the 1950s. It was built over an old cemetery, so to build the pool they had to dig up all the bodies and move them elsewhere. HIS was left behind by mistake, and now he attacks anyone who swims in the pool as revenge for having his eternal slumber disturbed. Whenever anyone swims in the pool, he (Invisible) sneaks up on the swimmers and pulls them under to drown/kill them. (Already he killed four people, including a little boy)

Why there was even another story that sort of relates to the quote. THE TALE OF THE WATER DEMONS which has a proverb related to the first one I posted, which I also enjoy following...

This old sea captain used to loot treasures from ships that went down at sea.

One of them was cursed...

The Water Demons: Spirits of those who died at sea, who are infuriated with the Captain for taking their treasures, as punishment they have cursed the captain-- every time he falls asleep they'll start coming for him, and they intend to drag him underwater and kill him as revenge for looting their ship.

...As long as the captain stays well-awake, the demons don't come.

Well that's the basics...

Now, as was dealt with at the top of this blog. I never said you should NEVER TRY and help anyone, and, again, we're not talking about abuse, sickness, people who are hurt. (Those you can help)

I'm talking about things like when Twilight Sparkle freed the Pony Pillars from their stone states. Those pillars were there FOR A REASON... to keep the Pony of Shadows sealed up as well... but Twilight made a CHANGE THAT SHOULDN'T BE MADE... and as such, she unleashed a great evil upon the land. Now even though it all ended up okay... THE FACT remains... she messed up by tampering with something she probably should have left well alone.

THAT is what I mean, and what the quotes refer to. Tampering or meddling with something you should probably leave well alone can lead to great consequences.

And I'll tell you what really stemmed the propaganda from the stupidity in the red quotes at the top.

It stems from my fic DARKNESS OF DIMENSIONS...

Twilight Sparkle is convinced that she can HELP the Dark Angels, or do something crazy like dispel the Dark Zone.

She was told repeatedly that not only is it not possible for the Dark Angels to come back to life (They have no bodies to live in) she was warned that all she would do is disrupt dimension fabrics and throw everything into.

What inspired that was from a 2003 movie I saw called THE CORE which also involved improper tampering leading to chaos.

DESTINI (Deep Earth SEISMIC TRIGGER INITIATIVE) a powerful man-made project to beam high-powered electromagnetic energy waves down Deep Earth fault lines, to actually generate controllable earthquakes as means as a surprise attack on terrorist governments...

...It caused the Earth's Molten Lava core to stop rotating, which spelled out doomsday for Earth (Not the topic)

When the initial plan to restart the core's rotation (Nuclear bombs) was seemingly going fail due to miscalculations. One scientist insisted they fire Destiny again, but the other crews know it will be ineffective and the consequences will be unfathomable!

-No, it won't work. If you fire that thing again with the core already stalled, it'll terminally destabilize it. Every volcano on the planet will blow. There'll be earthquakes big enough to break us to pieces.

And that's exactly the same situation I put Twilight in. Her ideas to "Dispel" the Dark Zone, and "Save" the Dark Angels will be ineffective, and will lead to worse problems.

...the worst that could've happened, she could have quite literally wiped out all worlds with such a stunt. Which is why she was told NOT TO MEDDLE.

It doesn't matter if SHE THINKS the Dark Angels deserve better, or if she WANTS Spike and the others to come back to life...

...She's meddling and tampering with forces that are far too dangerous, and SHOULD NOT be be tampered with.

(Besides, as it is heavily implied in the fic... and I WOULD write it so... even if Twilight DID succeed and bring the Dark Angels to live once more, they have no desires for reconciliation, not even after being revived.)

So, to recount the first quote...

...and quit being babies about the way I handle it and putting words in my mouth.
