the elements of harmony, luxury brainwashing

Well, this is my first blog, a little weird actually do not know how many will read this, but if possible I like to open discussions. So it's worth it, it's fact that Sunset shimer simply changed from water to wine after being hit with the power of the elements, just as nightmare was purified, I've read many explanations for this and many theories of what happens in the perceptive of who gets hit

How I failed to write a multiverse story 5 times and still haven't learned my lesson. · 1:11am Mar 12th, 2021

I will try not to mess around and keep telling the story of my life and I will jump right in to report the ideas and processes that I thought about last year +/-, but I love to give context too much. So context: So basically I don't currently have what it takes to be a writer, even if I try hard, but I'm a guy full of ideas and influences, despite being a heavy cost I managed to pay for one of my ideas to be written and with help something interesting came up, but the quality of my idea was not good and I had a series of changes that created other ideas that will be described below.

The original idea:

Originally the idea (in a nutshell) was based on a group of mysterious villains that corrupts sunset and their friends and using resources and characters from several different universes would make a great war against Celestia and evil would win, but then they enter the problems of this idea: first the villains only had the pose of a villain and were violent, having a long, complex and confused backstory that made each of them have a hatred for Celestia and thought very little about a battle of ideas and morals between the two sides, that is, low quality villains! according to I didn't even think of a way to corrupt the girls, I gave superficial reasons for them to enter the war, that is, more characters with little motivation. third, tragedies are not really my thing and the winning villain can be quite boring if executed without proper empathy with the character, motivation and etc. And finally, the question of multiverse resources would ask for a ridiculous amount of exposure, the level of power would make dragon ball look weak in comparison and would show a total lack of need to corrupt the girls to serve as soldiers in this war that was supposed to end in less than a day given the difference in power, I even tried to lengthen the war by adding multiversal opposition to the villains, but it was very forced.

Then the person who is writing the fanfic, being a being with a lot more sense than I basically gave me a flyer, cut the fat, the dimensional garbage, re-made the characters, changed the motivations, removed the tragedy, and more a thousand things, in short he spent 2 months hitting his head with the text and created something that was really good to read.

So I took the leftovers, cuts and rubbish and started fiddling with it to see if I could create something separate with these things. from there came the other ideas that will come next.

The Patchwork World:

for those who don't know this concept The Patchwork World is about some kind of world that is made up of pieces from different worlds, but basically that was the summary of what the idea was, I thought about first taking the worlds that had the powers that I was interested, but I realized that I was less interested in a crossover than I was in some character using powers from a certain world that has interesting mechanics that I would like to use, for example adding a sharingan in rarity seems much better than adding Sasuke in the series: raritystarry :, as I found it boring I left only my two favorite animes and tried to catch all the fanfics that never came to an end or I wanted a sequence that I already read as an attempt to get an end to these abandoned fanfics ,but that also didn’t work out because the change of protagonist and the characteristics of the world completely screwed up the plot of these fanfics and / or take away an important feature of the fanfic in question, in addition some fanfics would be part of a shared universe of fanfics that would require person who wrote to read many, many other fanfics: facehoof :.

So I started my third attempt with this idea: writing almost all these pieces of the world myself and… it was good, I built several countries, almost an entire continent and several scenarios that in themselves could be good, but then I noticed that there was no central story to move the whole thing, it would have a ton of separate characters, places and adventures, not to mention that the protagonists would need motivation to travel the world and get involved in local problems. This could all be resolved, but this fanfic would be trying to compete with One piece in building the world and size at a minimum, so I gave up on that idea.

suffering sponge:

So I thought about taking a different rhythm, focusing on a single character and focusing on a negative arc, but that basically made the character a sponge of suffering. the idea was:

Sunset is going through the mirror portal for the first time, but before she reaches the human world she is hit by an arrow from Jojo who was crossing the path between the worlds for some reason (this would be a mystery that could serve as a hook for some story) , the arrow throws her out of the tunnel between the worlds and she is thrown to a third world (that is, a world that is neither equestria nor the human world of EQG), that third world was a place created by a vision my pessimist of the world and my fears: militaristic facism, inequalities of all kinds, general apathy of the people, liberalism without opposition, conservatism of the most radical types in power, unregulated capitalism.

Sunset would arrive in this world in the body of a little girl of 8 years old or less, would end up in an orphanage of the cruel stereotype type, she lets things out about equestria by making caregivers send her to a therapist who would fill her with medicines.

And then the Sunset Stand finally comes out.

The Sunset Stand would be based on her desire for power and she refuses to obey Sunset, not only that, he turns against Sunset itself and using his powers of thread turns Sunset itself into a living puppet stuck in its own body is forced to take the drugs that keep her mind weak, with the stand basically taking full control and using and abusing Sunset's body mercilessly to rise in life and using the arrow that is inside Sunset's arm to create other users Stand when she wished.

So I thought the Stand would use Sunset to convince someone important and corrupt to adopt it, through her behavior, arguments, information that only a Stand user could get, the stand arrow or in the worst case through the guy be a pedophile.

Then using the money of this corrupt adoptive father she would enroll in one of the best military schools in the country and using the knowledge that Sunset already had from the equestria school and being able to study and exercise physically beyond human limits (which would cause great suffering to Sunset) she would move quickly and start building influence, prestige and her own power organization…

I stopped after that because I realized that nobody who read so many chapters of suffering without even a point of hope or a bigger plot that I didn't create… I didn't know which way I was trying to take this in the end.

changing the order:

seeing the failure of the idea of this suffering sponge, I thought about changing things and doing it in another way: Sunset would be a military officer from the same world as this previous idea, she is a girl adopted from an extremely conservative and patriarchal priest house and went to the armed forces out of obligation, she takes anti-psychotics to suppress hallucinations (The stand) and `` false '' memories (the memories of Equestria). She is the military contact of a new scientific team that relies on a twilight sparkle in an attempt to create some new type of weapon. evil organizations from various worlds as they try to get home,

The van:

Trying to get rid of the dark part of the previous ideas I imagined making Sunset and her friends being very bad ass alternative versions of themselves traveling on a ship looking for distressed worlds to sell the heroes weapons, powers, items and soldiers that would save the day when everything seemed lost, but these girls would be quite exaggerated and dramatic, they would often sell disproportionately powerful weapons for simple problems, offer exaggerated solutions to something that could be done more easily and would charge exorbitant prices for it. The idea was to be a comedy, but I'm a very serious and long-winded guy and that spoils the joke.

I then tried an adventurous approach to this story in which they are mercenaries really saving the worlds with their exaggerated powers, but I think that would not work because I would need to contextualize the world and the problems as a whole before they came to save the day ... or that is, another story that would be absurdly long and based on action, mainly because each of our mercenaries would come from a different timeline that collapsed due to the temporal paradox.

And finally, if I write this story I think Buddha will come and slap me:

The biggest problem with traveling through the multiverse is that you need to keep contextualizing the place you’re showing all the time, creating a storyline for each place, heroes, villains, etc., so I thought: how do I just want to get some elements from some worlds and make use of awesome powers and bad ass versions of some characters why not bring that to a plot in a single world.

Thanks to an anime scene I got a little curious about some Buddhism stuff (more on the side of martial arts than philosophy) and I went after it, I ended up meeting a species called Asura and I got really deep in the history of these creatures in particular , even thinking that they are a little bit wronged in the Hindu / Buddhist / etc scriptures.

Asura is a being that in an interpretation for our Western culture they would be demons, but that is not how it works, you see, Asuras are demigods who, unlike the gods, have strong emotions and a very strong attachment to the earthly world, in addition to being practitioners of the resurrection of the soul instead of reincarnation, that is, they are more sinners than incitement to sin as is normally associated with demons, moreover the Asuras were drunk by the gods and expelled from the land of the gods to the land of the demigods below which is well poorer and from where the land of the gods sucks its nutrients. Finally, but not least the Asuras and the gods were once a single tribe, but one day a group of immigrants arrived in the land of the gods and settled on the banks of the river creating a drought, the god king (an Asura) sympathized with the immigrants and let them stay, but a rain god convinced the gods to revolt and the gods massacred the immigrants while the Asuras did nothing. King Asura was deposed and banished to the bottom of the sea and the tribe split between supporters of the old and supporters of the new king.

Having read so much about the Asuras I was very interested and thought of a story that was based on Sunset's reincarnation as an Asura (falling down the stairs and dying) who would be trying to unify the Asura tribes and end the war with the gods once and for all, in order to do that she would invoke the 6 alternative bad ass versions that I mentioned in the previous idea and create martial arts techniques based on either the carnal desires or the buddha teachings.

problems with this idea:

1- 108 is a very large number of techniques and I found the list of main teachings of Buddha small, of course there is much more than the main, but it is more a branch of the main… I don’t know, I would have to research a lot more.

2- Complexity, I would have to go through a long list of items to contextualize, develop all 7 characters and also many secondary characters that would be people from the world of Asuras, there would be several sagas.

3- cultural appropriation: I think it is not correct for me to make a fanfic using this because I would be using and manipulating the set of beliefs of other people, which I do not understand very well and only know through anime, so this could be a lot of mistake on my part.

That's it for now, all the stuck ideas I had and I can remember, thanks for reading.
