Zenex was sitting in his room, drawing out a new dress design, when something bonked him on the head.
"Oof! Hey!" He picked it up, noticing it was a balled up piece of paper. Zenex hesitated, then opened it. His eyes widened at what was inside.
Sunflower yellow, brilliant sky blue. Your eyes are my beautiful gems. I 
you
Zenex turned red, then looked around for the source of the note. There was no one in sight. He carefully examined the note. It wasn't written in a hoofwriting he was familiar with...
~The Next Day~
Zenex was talking with Hero, walking down the hallway as they did. Suddenly, something fluttered over and slid to a halt at his hooves, causing him to stop as he nearly stepped on it. Zenex picked it up. It was a paper airplane. He noticed something on the inside and opened it, revealing a small wrapped chocolate heart. He blushed, then looked at the note. It was cut from pieces of what looked like a textbook.

Zenex blushed again as Hero grabbed the note and read it. Zenex clutched the chocolate heart, blushing.
"Woah. Who do you think wrote it?"
"I-I don't know..."
"Well, they can't have gotten that far away." Hero glanced around, and Zenex followed his lead.
The hallway was mostly full of a couple adult changelings he didn't recognize. But then, he noticed two nymphs in particular. Flutterwings, who was walking by with her brother Spiny, and Apex, who seemed to be playing hide and seek with Ocellus. Zenex's eyes narrowed as he watched the two.
"Uh...Zen?"
Zenex shook his head. "S-Sorry Hero, what did you say?"
"Are you gonna eat that?" he pointed at the chocolate. "It's probably gonna melt soon you know."
"Oh, right." Zenex opened the chocolate, then took a bite out of it. His eyes widened as he looked down at it.
"Uh, Zen? You okay-?"
"I have to go!" with that, Zenex rushed off. Hero blinked, then shrugged and walked over to where Apex and Ocellus were playing.
~The Next Day~
Zenex walked through the Hive, wearing a new dress, a white one with a purple hem and a necklace with a red jewel on the collar. He smiled as he reached a specific door, and pulled a note out from a pocket of the dress. He kissed it for good luck, then slipped it under the door, before leaving. He smiled.
