Star Trek: Phoenix — Crew List (Season 2)

Hi everyone, this blog's purpose will be for the character cast for Season 2 of Star Trek: Phoenix. Since a lot of people were asking about having a character sheet public, I eventually was able to make one. So, this is organized as Rank - Name - Position, Uniform Color - Gender, Species. Note, some modifications may

Finally, an update for Spirit Detective! (Hold your applause)

So, originally I was going to push out the newest chapter in, about, an hour. It is currently 6am, and I woke up at 4am and have been writing ever since. I published the weird thing that came into my mind last night in the ideation story, which has been my only break.

    Redline

Me: "Plot idea! What if Sunset shares a sugar-rush fever dream with Pinkie, Rainbow, and Sci-Twi because her geode activates while they're asleep at a slumber party?"

Also me: "... wouldn't that dream essentially be Redline?"

Also also me: "Yes, so get your ass to work!"

Finally, an update for Spirit Detective! (Hold your applause) · 2:14pm Feb 17th, 2021

So, originally I was going to push out the newest chapter in, about, an hour. It is currently 6am, and I woke up at 4am and have been writing ever since. I published the weird thing that came into my mind last night in the ideation story, which has been my only break.

I was in the zone with this chapter for Spirit Detective. Had a cool 3.5k approaching 4k. Was gonna save shortly then take a break before doing a final edit.

And then the goddamn power went out. Again MOTHERFLIPPING AGAIN! It is 45°, not a cloud in the sky... and the power went out... AGAIN! Normally, that wouldn't be a big issue except... the last power outage destroyed the battery in my laptop. So, like the lapdesk it is, it shut off. So, spoiler alert. I lost mostly everything.

I'm absolutely livid. Thank god I have a midterm that was already due yesterday but got delayed until today to work on... if, ya know, I had power!

I'm absolutely livid. Tl;dr:

I lost power, I lost 85% of the chapter. I'm too ticked to rewrite it- especially on my phone. All the content that was lost will go into the next one. Bite-sized chapter as it is, at least it is something.

I'm really sorry.

Edit: if it makes you feel better, I just checked on my phone and noticed I lost half of my midterm that I was working on yesterday, because for whatever dumbass reason... I never saved that either.

This is goddamn lunacy.

I've been noticing many people mentioning about power outages lately.
What the hell is going on with the power companies there?

Texas is having a major ice storm, which they were 100% unprepared for as their infrastructure is ... laughably unprepared, at any rate.

I'm in Oregon, we had an 'ice' storm here on Friday, which is why we lost power that night ... it just happened to completely fry my battery.

This? I have no idea. Power was restored sunday night. It is currently a cool cloudless morning. And because my battery is nonexistent. When the power went out, so did everything I was working on.

Lots of power outages are sure happening lately.

Sure hope it doesn't happen on my end..

Ouch. Shells, sorry to hear that Blue. I do most of my writing in the cloud these days, but that comes with it's own risks.

Next time, enable autosave I guess?

You can do that on here? I legit had no idea.

My writing process is... convoluted. I write on here, finish a draft, then rewrite it on GDocs as a form of "editing", then rewrite it again over the original draft.

This was mostly a first draft that was flowing insanely well, so I figured transferring over and rewriting it again would be a snap. It was looking like it too, but ugh.

The problem I have, is, that when I take adderall, anything not related to the sentence I'm typing is 100% removed from my mind. That includes things like drinking water, eating food, bathroom, saving, and even outright moving outside of my fingers. It is pretty... wild.

Cloud writing is good, that just happens to be my second or final stage of writing. This was my first and starting to transition to second.

It is what it is, but it never should have happened- even if we disregard my inability to consciously think about saving.

No, you can do that in Libreoffice and Word.

Don't write full chapters in a Web browser, it tends to end in tears.

As a Venezuelan that has to deal with power outages, I know how you feel and I hope you recover from it. Best wishes.

I still write all my rough drafts on paper. It's easier for me to make notes and small changes and suggestions to myself that way.

Also... there may be some mandatory experiments... for which I shall need several hundred million 'volunteers'.

I need Philosopher's Stones, you see. :pinkiecrazy:

I tend to write my things in google docs and it saves it automatically. Sucks for what your going through, i hope things get better for you.
