Winter Update · 9:55pm Feb 8th, 2021
It's been a few months. I probably should've been more active here, but the past few winters have been kind of like this too, haven't they? Oh well, better late than never. I'll talk about things after the break.
Mentally I'm in a much better place than I used to be. My lack of activity this time last year was pretty much entirely because of depression, but I'm thankful now that isn't the case. No, this year is more about an overinvestment in things I probably shouldn't be focusing on. Once you're victorious with your internal battles you can finally turn towards the external and give your effort to the things you believe in, but even that isn't exactly motivating or encouraging. Everyone wants to see you improve out of depression, but once you start accomplishing things people tend not to be so encouraging. My focus has dropped away from this fandom almost entirely over the past couple of months and it's meant I haven't been working on the projects I was once passionate about. That's certainly been a mistake for my general disposition, but I've started breaking away from all that to bring my focus back somewhat.
Finally getting away from the problems that once plagued me have introduced me to a new conundrum where I have to start putting some real thought into where my life is going to go from here. I've always had a distant plan of what I wanted to do, but deep down I kind of knew it'd never become a reality because of how much I had to contend with internally. Now though, I have a lot of tools at my disposal and a lot of choices to make on how I spend my time. Important decisions like that beg a lot of questions.
That is more or less a personal endeavor I'll venture towards on my own. I'm sure you all are more interested to hear about the stories. I plan on trying to recapture the magic I had last year in terms of productivity, though more of it may end up in other projects than it does here. I should get back to posting consistently soon enough though.
At any rate, I'm going to try to jump back on the consistent writing to have something to present at the end of each month. The past few months were difficult to progress through and honestly it seems like I fell asleep in August and just woke up this month in terms of trying to figure out my path forward. Hopefully things won't be so up in the air in a few weeks.

I hope you're not forcing yourself to write in this fandom. Some folks just either age out or something else catches their fancy.
I still get random updates from ff.net for stories that haven't updated in a decade. It gives me the excuse to recall that fine in my life and why I enjoy that author or fandom.
Unless it's for a commission, you don't owe any of us here anything.
I enjoy your works.
But if your time in this has come or is nearing the end, I ask if you to keep the stories and blog posts up for prosperity.
