Hello there! Here is my review of Beauty and the Beast. We have yet another classic film of the Renaissance people will never forget and will always watch time after time. For me personally however, this is... merely an above average film. I was never a big fan of this movie like I was for The Lion King and The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and I still am not a fan of this. I mean, it’s a decent film with good animation and a wonderful soundtrack, but... I don’t like most of its characters too much. Don’t get me wrong; the story is good, and the main characters were also good. For the others... well, not so much. Let me explain:

1). The other main protagonist is Beast. Honestly, he’s one of the most conflicted, emotionally driven, and well-rounded Disney heroes I’ve ever watched. Because the other Disney Princes we all know (at least most of them) are generic, bland, and tasteless. Beast however is much more than that. Every time he gets in a fit of rage, he somewhat reminds me of Hades from Hercules; he is basically the more serious and animalistic version of Hades. Ha, imagine if he and Hades got into a raging contest! I wonder who would truly win?

Anyway, I like his character and the way he developed in this movie especially in his relationship with Belle.

2). Belle herself was also an interesting character. She is thoughtful, sweet, caring, selfless, intelligent, and quite studious as well. Wait a minute... IS SHE TWILIGHT SPARKLE IN HUMAN ADULT FORM?!? Nah, Twilight is far from selfless (Oh fuck, Twilight fans are gonna kill me).

3).

Hmmmm... I remember saying something of him from my last review. What was it again?

girl-thirsty asshole

Oh yes! That one! In all seriousness, he is one of the most boring and irritating villains I have ever seen in a Disney film. No offense to all Gaston fans out there, but this guy is so dull. All that he cares about is wanting to get laid with Belle. Such an arrogant, egotistical, patronizing, and muscular brute. Here is what I will say of him even further:

NOOOOO ONEEEEEE’S BLAND LIKE GASTON, NO ONE’S GENERICALLY STUPID LIKE GASTON!

And no one anticlimactically dies like an idiot like Gaston! It would have been better if he was mauled to death by wolves after breaking his leg from the long fall. Right, guys? It’s not like they were going to cut that out from the script and save that for Scar’s death, right? I mean, it’s definitely not a kids movie, right? (Fake Laughs) Right, guys?? Hahahahaha...

Oh wait........

4).

These guys were... rather meh. However, I was amused by Lumiere’s and Cogsworth’s antics and banters. Besides that, the rest were just either meh or annoying. Nonetheless, Jerry Orbach and David Ogden Stiers gave their best performances as those two iconic characters. Rest In Peace for them both.

The comedy was fine... I guess? Like I said, the animation is good, and the soundtrack they used for the film was decent. However, I don’t like the songs at all. Maybe because they were rather sung obnoxiously or just flat out uninteresting. Either way, I am not big on this film’s songs at all. This is probably one of those Disney films ALL the songs did not move or entertain me whatsoever. That’s just me. But the story was interesting though. No doubt about it. So I give this movie a 6/10. Props to you if you love this movie more than I do. That’s it.

Peace.

Oh, a classic love story.

Hey, on the plus side, guess who's NOT like Gaston? Deadpool. (Turn on captions)

I remember watching that video a few months ago. Very well done although a bit over the top.

Would you be interested in reviewing “Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas”, by any chance?

I'm saving that for Christmas Eve.

👍🏻That’s a good idea.

After all, it is a Christmas-themed movie.
