Today I witnessed the most inane exchange at the store. I was with my mother whom broke her arm some time back and has finally begun to recover. We were behind this fellow who started ranting at a teller about how he had a medical exemption then refused to provide proof thereof claiming they were not allowed to ask that. Which technically by canadian law is true, however, a store is private property and they retain the right to refuse service for ANY reason except clearly stated illegal ones. This yelling moron wasted more time than it would have taken to simply put on a mask for a mere moment or at least <prove> he had an exemption. They did not need anything further than this.
Instead this person was obviously and quite purposely provoking and screaming nonsense at others which, by actual law, is definitely not allowed. The store staff were courteous throughout and one teller did volunteer to process him through despite his refusal to prove his exemption. This idiocy does nothing more than endanger everyone else, including themself and it is both sickening and disheartening to me to witness. I had not until this day personally seen this behavior and commend all people actually making the extremely simple effort to keep each other safe through these hard moments.
