So uuh...hello there!
I don't know if anyone is here to read this to be honest. I've been gone for so long that it honestly feels like an eternity since I've been on this site. I just felt like coming back and saying...hey, to FiMfiction and anybody who might still be here. So...hey there FiMfiction, I missed ya. I think it's been like 4 years since I came on this site frequently, right when I started college. Since then, the time has just seemed to fly by, along with, well, Friendship is Magic as a whole, huh? Lots happened since I last left this site; I became a president of one of my college clubs, I graduated, and I even got to meet some very important people in my life from this site, in the flesh, and of course...Friendship is Magic came to a close. So much has happened so quickly, and looking back on it all, I can't help but think that this fandom, this community is what carried me through some of the toughest years of my life. I joined FiMfiction around my junior year of high school after falling into the MLP rabbit hole; seeing the memes, the Bronies react videos, Friendship is Witchcraft, and all that fun stuff. The first few years here brought me some of the greatest treasures I'll ever know; friends that I can call some of my closest for over six years, and my love for writing stories. I've been ignoring that love for the last few years to be perfectly honest...college put me through the ringer, especially being an English and education major, though I eventually decided that after 5 years of writing nothing but academic papers, that it was time for me to cut my losses, and graduate with honors in English. So now...I find myself a free individual, free of the writing pressures of a college institution...but not yet free of my love of writing, so I've come at an impasse.
Do I continue writing? And if so, what should I write? Fanfiction once more? Something original? Continuing a story? Who's to say...as my heart at the moment says write, but my brain says "Eeeeehhh...I dunno about this one chief". All I know at the moment is that I've been going on a nostalgia trip, listening to mlp songs and watching scenes from the show, and that hasn't not sparked any ideas in good ol'Equestria. Maybe there's something there, and maybe I just need to get off my flank and rediscover my love of the written word, and maybe even these worlds of candy colored ponies and people. I can't make any promises, other than the fact that I'll never stop trying to figure out what I want from myself, so I hope for someone out there, that's good enough. For now...I think I'll try, and I hope anyone reading this will try too.
