I'm actually pretty close to finishing part 2 of FiMTech. I know it's been over half a year since the last chapter was released, and I make no excuses; I'm lazy and have things I'd rather be doing. However, I do still write every now and then. I love this series and want to see it completed someday. No telling how long that will take considering the number of titles I have planned for it, but whatever.
This last chapter is going to be massive (12.6k words so far and I've still got two short battle scenes and one semi-long battle scene to write), and the epilogue is gonna be about as long as a normal chapter. I think I'm doing a good job of cutting out fluff, so that's mostly actual content. Definitely gonna break that 100k word mark.
Also, I want to rewrite shit again. I've noticed issues with how the earlier chapters of part 2 flow, so that's gonna require some editing, and even now I'm still unhappy with how part 1 turned out despite having rewritten large chunks of it. I might completely re-do part 1 sometime soon. I don't mean another "fix some chapters and rewrite others" deal, I'm talking full-blown entirely new story with a new plotline (it'll follow the general "training days" theme, but most other stuff will be new) and some new characters. I might keep a few scenes, but I'm not sure. I didn't really plan how I wanted this story to turn out, I just wrote. Obviously that was a mistake considering my writing skills at the time. It needs to be redone, properly this time. Can't have the entrance to my favorite series be complete trash. I'll probably keep that one up once I finish the new one, but as kind of an AU / non-canonical story. Not sure if I want to write part 3 before I do that, though. I need to think about it more.
