Halfway through 52 Project! · 6:12pm Sep 26th, 2020
I posted story number 26 yesterday to my writing blog (alarawriting.tumblr.com), so I am halfway through this thing!
Haven't had any time to write fanfic -- all my writing time has been going into making sure I don't embarrass myself by missing a deadline, and it's not gonna get better until December, because I'm trying to do Inktober and Nanowrimo also. (I will fail, but trying is the only way I get part of a thing done...) I do have two fanfics where only a small amount of work would produce the next chapter. Unfortunately, they are No Escape From Yourself, where I just posted a chapter, and Elements of Magic, which I don't think too many people are interested in (although this is the chapter where the antagonists are introduced...) Does anybody want to see the next chapter of either of those?
I feel bad because I know the one everyone is waiting for is Not the Hero, and I doubt I'll have a chance to work on it until December, but that's the way it is. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to balance fanfic and pro fic, but in the middle of a challenge to put out a new story every week is not the time.
I'd like to see another chapter from No Escape From Yourself, definitely. Not the Hero is certainly high on my list of anticipated progress, but Elements of Opposition is my number one, seemed like it's almost set to finish even though the last chapter published says it has four chapters to go.
Any new words from you are words worth reading!
I'd absolutely love to see an update to Elements of Magic! It's really a nice breather from all of your sad fics, and since No Escape is probably your saddest fic of em all, I'd totally be down for a more lighthearted story. Also, I really want to see evil Flutershy or whoever it is.
Loving your 52 works (I'll never quite look at cats the same way again). That said, I hope you count whatever you write for Inktober and Nanowrimo as part of your 52 project as well, it's already a crazy amount of work.

Well, not Nano, but I have arranged things with the prompts so that four out of five of the 52 Project stories that appear in October will be related to Inktober/Writeober prompts.
And yeah, it is a crazy amount of work and I am insane for trying this, but apparently I only accomplish anything when I try to do something so ambitious I'll almost certainly fail. When I set out to do only reasonable things, I don't do anything.

Failing isn’t failure, the only failure is when you stop trying.
Keep it up! I’ll patiently wait for a chapter while you in literary evolution
