Xbox gets ZeniMax Media · 3:59pm Sep 21st, 2020
Just Hours ago, a purchase by Xbox (Microsoft) of ZeniMax Media just happened.
With this purchase, Xbox (Microsoft) will acquire ZeniMax Media, and with it Bethesda Softworks, creators and publishers of The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Wolfenstein, Doom, Dishonored, Quake, and more.
The deal will include ZeniMax Media as a whole, Bethesda Softworks, Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios.
This purchase is 7.5Billion dollars, 3x the deal they made for Minecraft and Mojang.
Todhoward shows his support for this deal stating that the X and S Xbox console are what they need.
"The Xbox series X and S are optimized for the vast worlds we love to create, with generational leaps not just in graphics, but CPU and data streaming as well. It’s lead to our largest engine overhaul since Oblivion, with all new technologies powering our first new IP in 25 years, Starfield, as well as The Elder Scrolls VI."
This purchase is expected to close in the second half of 2021
