Unsure how to continue · 3:38am Sep 18th, 2020
After what happened with my work for the story Glow writing contest I feel unsure about what to do. I did plan on my main story getting darker as it continues. The only saving grace was going to be that everything would work out in the end.
My mind keeps swirling with wondering why my Cozy Glow story got so much bad reviews.
My main goal for writing was to entertain readers. So I feel like I failed at that. The end result is that I don't want to disappoint any audience that I have already built.
I know the two people that upvoted my cozy glow story for that I will always be grateful and I say thank you. but I do keep asking myself why all the downvotes. Is the story that bad?
So I thought I would add this little question so I might be able to figure out where the line is so I don't cross it. I don't want to add any more chapters that might disappoint any readers into not continuing the story.
Thank you to any readers any feedback is welcome.
(Is the dark tag the reason so many people hated it, or what it did to Cozy Glow?)

I, and I believe everyone else, can't see the number of downvotes on the story because I believe you disabled that option, at least to the viewers. I don't know what the vote ratio is.
You have the dark tag on this story and it delivered on that point. If people are still disliking it, hart to put my hoof on why. It has a dark ending but again, dark tag, so your readers not only should expect that, but that should be the reason they are reading it I found what happened to Rain very uncomfortable, but again, dark tag, so it feels like the story is delivering on a promise.
You know, as a test, you should continue this story with a brighter ending just to test audiences reaction. I'm not suggesting going full-on happy sunshine, rainbows and flowers, but start where you left off and lift the story from there. Up and downvotes is thin feedback, but if you dish a different story and get different results, you still learn something.
