Prince Blueblood, the villain? · 12:26am Sep 14th, 2020

I just got struck with a very (I think) controversial idea that some of you might hate me for later: what if instead of Grogar (or at least Discord posing as Grogar) gathering the villains of Equestria for season nine, it was Prince Blueblood aka the anti-thesis of Prince Charming that did that? And what if the villains he recruited were not just composed of main antagonists, but also minor antagonists from one-off episodes (Garble and Ahuizotl included)?

Here's how it would go down: when Celestia and Luna announce that Twilight will be taking over, Blueblood is absolutely furious since he believes "a mere commoner shouldn't have the right to rule Equestria". Plus, because the Mane Six's actions at spreading friendship and preserving peace have become famous, Blueblood becomes jealous of them, believing he could have solved all those problems faster than they could have. So in the grand scheme of things, Blueblood breaks Tirek and Cozy Glow out of Tartarus, finds Chrysalis in the forests, resurrects Sombra and the Storm King, and contacts Lightning Dust and the Washouts, Suri Polomare, Wind Rider, Gladmane, Svengallop, Sludge, Dr. Caballeron and his gang, the Diamond Dogs, Ahuizotl, Zesty Gourmand, Wrangler, Hard Hat, Dandy Grandeur, and even the Flim-Flam Brothers and Iron Will to meet him at the Far East Side of Equestria. There, he introduces himself and explains his reasonings for bringing them all together before tempting them with getting even with the Mane Six and all their friends and allies. Since the Mane Six's actions have caused the minor antagonists to lose their jobs or even be expelled from their homes via the Friendship Journals be distributed across the land, they are willing to work with Blueblood more than the main baddies. Eventually, due to Blueblood not falling for Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy's lie about not retrieving the Bewitching Bell, he empowers everyone and himself to handle the Mane Six and their allies. But because of the power being dark magic (and harboring some of Grogar's spirit), Blueblood begins to go insane with power and even wants the Windigos to freeze over Equestria so that all ponies will be forced to come to him for safety. All of this is not meant to be due to half of the villains under his command (ironically consisting of the main antagonists, the Washouts, and the Flim-Flam Brothers) joining forces with the Mane Six and all of Equestria to stop him. It culminates in a final battle where Blueblood manages to enslave the Windigos to put them under his control and forcefully merges himself with them to become "King Blueblood the Omnipotent", only for the Bearers of Harmony to not only defeat him, but also destroy the bell and the Windigos. Celestia and Luna condemn Blueblood to having his status as prince stripped away and locked up in Canterlot's dungeons while the other villains are imprisoned back to Tartarus.

An alternate spin is Celestia wants Luna to take over ruling Equestria full time, much to Blueblood's irritation since he had been craving for the throne since he was a colt. So he recruits the minor antagonists and tempts them with getting revenge on the Mane Six for making them lose their jobs and/or statuses before he sends them out to commit various crimes to wear out the heroines while he collects the Bewitching Bell and numerous other dark artifacts from various other past villains of Equestria (Squirk, Catrina, and Arabus to name a few). Come Luna's ascension to full-time sole ruler of Equestria, Blueblood has his associates release Tirek and Cozy Glow from Tartarus and direct Chrysalis to Canterlot, where he plans to defeat the three major threats with the artifacts and not only upstage the Mane Six in terms of heroics, but also steal the throne from Luna. The plan goes awry however when the combined powers of the artifacts corrupts him with their original wielders' essences and warps him into Darkness Incarnate (literally his new name and title). Faced with no other choice, the villains reluctantly team up with the heroes to defeat Blueblood and stop him from consuming all of Equestria. In addition to his corruption, Blueblood develops a mental link with the Windigos and assumes command over them. After the Magic of Friendship destroys the artifacts and the Windigos, Blueblood is returned to normal, albeit either braindead, amnesiac, remorseful or still

So, what do you think? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on this idea and whether or not it might've been a good idea to have the final villain be Blueblood.

Good interesting or bad interesting?

Okay. In response to how Blueblood was underused in the cartoon and Grogar being a red herring, how do you think using Blueblood in Discord-as-Grogar's place would change the entire ninth season, along with replacing Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow with the minor (mostly one-off) antagonists?
