Okay, ladies, answer me a question that has baffled me for years:
Why do girls find guitar players / musicians attractive?
WHY?
I'm a guy, but I can answer that for you.
They don't. The passion that musicians have for their craft is what attracts girls, and that goes for anything you're passionate about. I can guarantee that playing a g chord in front of a crowd of girls will not have them running toward you. I um... I know from experience

'Dem's the brakes' would fit well for that one!
I only asked about this because I've been watching some videos about it recently. I've noticed almost all videos of guys playing the guitar are wearing a wedding ring. You hear all of those groupie stories about guys in bands instantly being considered 'dateable' because they can play. Passion for the craft sounds like a better answer, honestly. I personally don't try playing to find any action, given that's just stupid, but it was such a cliché misconception that I wanted to hear a proper answer on it that only the female audience can answer.
But hey...as long as you're not that one guy who turns up to a party with your acoustic, you're less of a wannabe. The cringe factor of playing over dear of being categorised as one of those players almost makes me want to quit.
I don’t know, I don’t have a girlfriend, so...

Yeah, I used to try and use guitar to get girls, but I learned quickly that that was not the way to do it. Personality gets you chicks. Guitar just gets you other guys who like guitar just as much.

Y'all made the right choice. It's incredibly douchey to use a guitar for the attention of ladies. (So much of a cliché guitarists in college used to impress females is a running joke in almost every TV series at one point or another. Trust me, it's there.)
And yes, true. Having other guitar friends to talk with is better. Makes you have a sense of belonging for a change. Very good community within this hobby, for sure. 💙

Y'all don't need a gf for this. Having one would be great, no lie, but you don't automatically have a relationship magically after learning to play.

Absolutely, I've met many good friends in the guitar/rock/metal community. No gf, but friends is good enough for me

Well yeah, I have played drums in front of people, and I didn’t get a girlfriend from that.
I have a lover, but that’s besides the point. It wasn’t drums, though.
