Okay, so I hit a major milestone with the recent chapter of Element of Balance. So I think now is probably a fair time to take a little break and do some editing on that and my other fanfic. So, no new chapter this week. But I'll back next one for sure. I know last blog post I said I fixed the mistake with Steel Gold's name being changed to Gold Steel, but I actually like the sound of that better
Okay so I had a little mix up with my unicorn thief character's name these past couple weeks that I just became aware of. I had Steel Gold set as the name in the chapters of Element of Balance, but it seems I switched to Gold Steel in the last two chapters where finally gets caught. Well I just edited the last two chapters to have it be Steel Gold. He does steal gold after all. But Gold Steel
Okay, so the next canon section of Element of Balance will be Winter Wrap Up. But first we're gonna need quite a few original chapters to cover the space between that. I don't think we really need a Nightmare Night, though that could be fun I suppose bit we'd have to not have Luna in this one. That can wait till next season/year with Luna Eclipsed. What would be a costume for Fire? Maybe a lion
Okay so for those of you who have been keeping up with Element of Balance, I'm going to be doing an alternate version of Call of the Cutie in which the CMC's already know each other and are already best friends. This avoids the contradiction in canon which deviates from the premiere episode where they are shown hugging each other in fright at the sight of Nightmare Moon.

Why can't people just leave the things they don't like alone. I will never understand why they actually want Twilight to outlive her friends! It seems so sadistic.

Thanks. Yeah, I've helped a lot of people who dont want Twilight to outlive her friends with this story and its predecessors. I just have to bear the hate I guess. I'm like a dark savior, like batman or itachi uchiha, the hero that people need but not what they want.
Maybe some had gotten jaded by so much of the show's flaws they just want it all to end both in our world and in the MLP continuity.

I think back in season 3 people still don't like The change of twilight into an alicorn Yes it is sad she have to out live her friends but sometimes it just happens even Celestia and luna have to live with that knowing they can out live ponys and Creatures or at some Creatures Throughout their lives Probably thats why alicorns Get such a bad reputation That they can't control And I'm very sorry that happened to you that people still don't understand how this works properly they just don't like a sad storys

Yeah. But we can prevent it from happening if we want. True it's sad if Twilight dies, but I see her outliving her friends as sadder. I choose her giving up her immortality to pass with them. I'm not gonna have my favorite pony suffer a fate I view as worse than death.

Hey when I first started I was more open, but if you hate on someone they will hate back. Hatred is a breeding thing, I know that. I walked that path for a long time and it caused me to cut myself off from full happiness forever. That's why I can never go by the living forever is awesome trope.

It's a fact of life for fanfic writers, and real, genuine authors as well. People will hate your story no matter you write. You could do it perfectly, with no mistakes at all, and people will hate it anyway.
No one in this fandom is a fan of literally everything on this site. It might not even be the anti-immortal Twilight stuff (you're not the only one who is stuck to the idea she isn't).

I never said I didn't think she was immortal. At least not in the finale, she is either that or longer lived. Nightmare Moon was said to want to bring the night that would last forever, but it has never once been said in the show that being an alicorn grants immortality, which is something people seem to ignore. As you know, I follow the idea that its Celestia and Luna's power over the sun and moon, simply because it is something I found on the mlp wiki. Of course as we discussed before on that, I looked and can't find the exact wording on that. It's possible I misunderstood when I read it at the time but who knows. There's also that thing I've heard about Celestia and Luna possessing immense magic power that 50 years is equal to 1 for them. Without any definite confirmation, all the stuff on immortality, longevity, and its source for the Princesses is really headcanons.
