Let's be honest here, he lives in his own little world where everyone else is wrong and he's the only one allowed to be right.

Becausese that would require him admitting that he's wrong, and his ego won't allow that.

He's so used to getting everything his way and only his way that the concept of him not being in the right when no one's around to coddle him and heater to his ego is a completely new feeling to him.

So he retaliates with anger like a child who didn't get his favorite toy. It kind of fits his mentality when you remember that he openly makes it clear that he doesn't want them mentally grow up.
