Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

Hello there, folks. Thought I'd give you guys a life update, since it's been about two weeks since my last.

My writing has most certainly slowed, though I'm trying to get a little done each week.

Most of my free time has once again been dominated by Division 2.

I got OBS downloaded and set up. I've gotten pretty decent with speed running Lincoln Memorial on Heroic.

Other than that, I've been trying, and failing, to complete the new Iron Horse raid that came out at the beginning of July. So far I've had two unsuccessful attempts in two weeks, and already the LFG discord channel has turned somewhat toxic, requesting "x number of clears" or "KWTD" (know what to do) or "last boss farm". You know, the typical douchbaggery that is very discouraging to less experienced raiders.

Not entirely their fault. I can understand their tested patience with newbies when Massive makes a raid that requires 6+ dedicated hours for newbies to smash their faces against encounters before they understand them. I find it questionable that they put out a raid this difficult when the game's population has fallen considerably, and it was delayed nearly a year after initial playtests. It makes me wonder what the hell was wrong with it last summer that it took this long to fix.

I can only assume that the live development team is only 15-20 people, and the rest of the studio is working on Division 3, where they'll most likely repeat the same mistakes they've made twice now with the last two games. For how fun and addictive Division 2 is, some of the developer's blunders are simply maddening.

I've nearly perfected my crit build. I think it'd be somewhat poetic to beat the second raid with gear that I got from the 1st raid. Just have to find a group patient enough containing players that don't have spouses or kids that take them away halfway through. :twilightsheepish:

Cool. Since your last blog, I've changed addresses and my old Brony friend from college became my roommate.

Awesome. My former roommate lives just down the block and we've started a re-watch of the series. Currently on Season 2.

I just want my character to be able to wear silly stuff that I can actually see underneath all of the military hardware.

Yeah, sadly only some of the apparel hide the body armor, like mine above.

I got the DC Police vest (or crossing guard, some yellow vest), Texas flag shorts, cowboy boots, aviator glasses and a Santa Hat.
