Weekly Updates: Twilight's Bizarre Exploits - Episode 3 · 5:48am Jul 21st, 2020

Yes, I know it hasn't been a week since last time. With how much I kept missing my self-imposed deadlines, may as well also get something early too. On previous episodes:

Pinkamena, a mare looking for her disappeared sister, is aided by Twilight, daughter of the semi-noble Sparkle family, and Trixie, the fabulous vampire. However, whomever is behind her sister's banishment, they are decided to keep that a secret. As they took a motor-cart to Twilight's house, they were assaulted by masked ponies riding never-seen-before model of automotive cart, and equally impressive new kind of weapon.

How can they escape an enemy that seems to wait for them at every corner? Who is this enemy? How many secrets can lie under the night’s Lunar veil.

Twilight's Bizarre Exploits: Midnight Light

Still looking for a theme song. Would hold a poll if I knew there were more than two to three readers (btw, thanks for reading after I passively aggressively sent you a link).

Twilight only saw the glare of the gunshot before her sight was lost in the white glimmer. A loud impact and then a sharp ringing in her ears followed it. She barely felt the pull from inside the cart and then a pair of hooves holding her.

The motor-cart staggered violently due to the artillery charge. Only luck prevented it from overturning by hitting a lamppost first. Trixie poked he head through the destroyed side, first looking at the driver, who was holding the better she could the steering wheel while also changing gears to stay ahead of their pursuers. Trixie then looked back at their attackers. Despite the speed and lack of natural light, her vampiric eyes allowed her to see them perfectly, confirming her suspicions that these ponies whore the same masks as the ones that assaulted them at the nightclub.

"Miss Pie!" Trixie called back to the cart while holding onto the edge of where there used to be a door. "Are you fine?"

"I-I-I think so." Pinkamena held onto the roof of the cart by a front leg while holding the semi-conscious Twilight against the seat with her remaining hoof.

"Good to hear!" Trixie cocked her head as if they were holding the most natural of conversations. "Please hold onto Lady Sparkle while Trixie takes care o--" but her ears picked the clicking that preceded the shot that almost cost them their ride, meaning the weapon was ready to unload its terrible charge at them again. Without any signal of preparing herself, Trixie just jumped into the darkness outside.

She swam through the night air, as it was water, lading on the hood of the automotive cart following them. "Good evening!" She waved with a hoof, smiling at them. The lack of vision made the driver lose control a bit, knocking away a trashcan in their way.

"Get out of our car, you crazy mule!" The masked pony holding the weapon shouted at her from the window, aiming her armament at the Trixie. But the vampire reacted faster, picking it by its cannon and taking away.

"Curious device you carry with you," she commented before slamming her hoof against the front window. This forced the driver to close his eyes and instinctively pull the brake level. That caused the automotive to violently scratch the road, leaving rubber marks behind it as Trixie was catapulted ahead by the inertia.

"Get out, get out!" The disarmed pony jumped out of the cart through the window. "We can't lose that assault riffle. The mares can wait for that!" He kept shouting orders as three more ponies stepped out of the cart.

"I don't understand," said the driver, who inspected the automotive's now destroyed front window, as well as the dented hood before it. "This was meant to be magically reinforced crystal, for forging."

"And I don't care!" The first one barked. "If we lose that riffle, we're as good as dead." He pulled a smaller, more recognizable volition-repeating pistol from his suit. "Now search for the mule and kill her."

The other ponies armed themselves too with similar firepower. Nowhere close to the multi-shot weapons from the nightclub, nor the thunderous artillery that they unloaded over the motor-cart. The spread over around the cart. The one giving orders stayed with the driver close to the automotive's hood, while the other two went forward in the direction Trixie was launched. They stopped under a nearby streetlight, about to signal that there was nothing ahead.

Then a shadowy blur took one of them and made her disappear.

The other pony turned around, aiming her gun high, but she too disappeared.

Their leader was about to shout the driver to get back in the cart, but a gush of wind blew next to him and he discovered he was alone.

“What the shite…” the masked pony muttered. “What the shite!” He shouted, waving his pistol in the air.

A loud thud behind him prevented any further questions. He turned around like a bolt and saw his companions lying over the hood of their automotive, unconscious. As he got closer, he also realized they didn’t have their helmets on.

Three softer thuds sounded behind him. The turned around again, this time slower and unsure, as he found the missing helmets. All of them had their visor broken and sported visible cracks.

“Hey, masquerade,” a feminine voice called from the back of the automotive. The alluded pony felt how the strength of his blacklegs began to fail them as he took the steps to look at the vehicle’s rear. He saw a bunch of bullets falling in front of him, making a clinking noise, and then followed by the missing weapons, and lastly, the assault rifle he wielded before.

“You think that contraption could save you from me?” A whisper asked right behind his ear.

“AH!” He fired blindly behind him the first shot of his pistol, aiming at where the voice was. As the cannons of the repeating mechanism changed places, he turned around and fired again at the same point. Blood splattered over his mask, which he took off to have a better look.

He immediately wished he hadn’t done so. The horror looked like a mare, wearing a high collar cape. But her otherwise normal azure coat was bathed in blood coming out of a very visible wound in her chest. Regardless of the damage, she misled with jagged teeth and glowing crimson eyes.

“Trixie has to be honest here,” said the bloody pony. “It’s been a long time since she felt the unique kiss of pain.” There was an exit wound in her cheek that also bleed as she spoke.

“Who--" the stallion tried, but the trembling from his legs took over. “What are you?!”

“Why, I’m your conscience,” she answered in a voice that sounded almost angelical, followed by more blood coming from her mouth. The red glimmered in her eyes began to get closer. “So come here and tell me all you have done.”

Her cape willowed with a ghost wind, fusing and expanding with the shadows around them. Shadows that covered the stallion, who has never nor would ever feel as much horror as in that moment.

Also looking for an outro song. Open to suggestions.
