Who doesn’t like hippogriffs?

That’s right, folks, we’ve got another entry into the Not-A-Contest.

TJuicy Traditions
A fruity bit of hippogriff history as told by my fluffy gf (and a bit of PoE silliness).

I’m super late in signal-boosting this one (like, over a month late), in part because of internet outages, and also in part mostly because I just forgot. Sorry, Celefin!

He wrote it for the online Iron Author competition, so only two hours of writing time . . . speedwriting competitions are intense yo, but totally worth doing--as he said, “it's amazing how you can fit concept creation, research and the actual writing into such a short time.” I’d say he knocked it out of the park.

Glitterkelp is adorable, and has an artist’s way of looking at things. Any of y’all who know an artist, you’ll be nodding your heads; those who don’t--trust me.

So that's why you asked me if she sells her pictures.
Thank you for including this silly little thing.
And omg... that picture is criminally adorable. But yeah, could be her. ;)

I remember reading Frederick Pohl's autobiography The Way The Future Was

At times, he edited various sci-fi magazines. The usual practice was/is to buy a story then hire a cover artist. Pohl almost always did it the other way around. He'd buy a striking picture to use as a cover then commission a story based on it. In the book, he answered the question "Why?"

He said "Based on results, most artists can't read but very few authors are blind"

Great story! Thanks for calling attention to it. Also reminded me I need to read everything else he's written.

Adorable. Just what the doc ordered.

Hm, thanks. :)

That’s not untrue . . . I have based a few stories off coverart, and I can say that I’m more likely to click on a story that has good coverart than one that does not, unless of course it’s an artist I know well.

You’re welcome, and yes you do. The Track Switch stories are particularly good.
